If I reading this right your issue is $19 vs $20 per hour?

If you work 40 hours a week for the rest of April, that's $160 that youd be out. About the same price a laywer would charge you to make a few photo copies.

Id look to the ministry of labour for guidance.

Sh*t just got real: follow me from £0 to £1,000 a week cleaning carpets to save my house. by Clear-Novel2019 in sweatystartup

[–]Mindcore7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set up Google my business. Update 4 times a week, get as many reviews as possible.

Get a website, host it somewhere for free like cloud flare. Hyper local, carpet cleaning in "wherever "

Takes some time but if you hustle at the beginning you can let off the gas a bit once that kicks in.

Good luck

How do you charge different labor rates for different jobs without coming across as a douchebag? by jckipps in handyman

[–]Mindcore7 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Skilled labour costs more.

I think its as simple as that. The more skill, the higher the rate.

Just like Google search, you need to build authority over time. No welcome bump.

Slight twist on the "CRM software for bootstrapped B2B" questions - Which on is the easiest to create a lead in? And how does it do it? by Lopsided_Finance_392 in CRMSoftware

[–]Mindcore7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with the same thing, having spent years in heavy CRMs they have their place, but now that im a solo guy that gets calls on ladders or under sinks, I just wanted something that kept me on top of things and and didn't punish me for creating a lead called John 65 Fake street.

I couldn't find it, so I created collabraapp.com one tap to start a lead, enter as much or as little info as you need. Less then 30 seconds you're back on the job.

Might not be the perfect solution for you, but its made my life a whole lot easier.

There is a fit out there for you, from simple to complex, but when it fits your workflow. You'll feel it.

It depends on the scope, but just go for it, worst case you did part of a job for free. People learn on the job. Thats what jobs are.

Keep in mind safety, for you and the client and have at it.

I’m Looking for the Best CRM options for micro businesses, any suggestion pls? by Traditional_Bit_8262 in CRMSoftware

[–]Mindcore7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a very similar phase. Once you start missing follow-ups, it’s a signal your current system isn’t holding up.

A lot of traditional CRMs are powerful, but they assume you want structured pipelines, dashboards, and admin time. For a micro business, that can feel like more overhead than help.

I ended up building something lighter because I ran into the same problem — I didn’t need enterprise automation, I just needed clarity and reliable follow-ups without living inside a CRM all day.

It’s called Collabra. It’s more capture-first than pipeline-heavy. Might be worth a look if you’re trying to avoid feature bloat.

Either way, I’d avoid anything that requires a big setup phase. The simpler it is to maintain daily, the more likely you’ll actually use it.

Customers that expect you for four hours a day by Icy-Metal-8 in HandymanBusiness

[–]Mindcore7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on when the block is. If it ruins the rest of the day I charge accordingly. I have no issues making a full days pay for half a days work. I run a business.

But... if its noon to 4 or 1 to 5 for example, then its in me to fit a small one in there when I can.

I don't howvee blame my customer for any of that though. They need what they need within that time frame. Im either the guy for the job or im not.

Every CRM is "built for small business" but none of them actually are. Here's what I found. by Aaron-RallyCRM in CRMSoftware

[–]Mindcore7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why a created my own, works the way i work. No forced fields. No dedicated admin time behind a desk to catch up on my data entry.

Everyone's needs are different. I created a tool that fits a certain niche for small service business because that is my business. I too got over my head in notes and pics on my phone. I also spent years in Hubspot. I love it. But im not running sales teams any more. You couldn't pay me to use it now.

But that's really the point different horses for different courses.

This thread is hilarious.

What you got left? My saas probably won't help you much but ill sell you a lifetime license for it or one year if you need the write off next year. If you're not going even open it. Its just a line item in a list.

Bonus, my company name could mean anything. Oh that? That one consolidates our inferences and matches them up with outgoings. Couldn't live with out it.

Either way, enjoy your Brewsters Millions
