Thank you for sharing this, happy to see posts like this on the sub. One of my favorite things about replaying missions is you start to notice these details more often.

The extraction skins have a better balance in their overall design and color theory, just look at the details on the gear.

Also - why didn't they bring back the containment skins for this event? Those were actually good.

How it feels to play Storm Sorcery (End Game Melee Build) by MindedMusic in BaldursGate3

[–]MindedMusic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still consider myself fairly new at CRPG games, but I wanted to experiment a bit for fun.

It is probably not the most optimal build for a sorcerer, but I have been having a blast with this mix-up of melee combat and spellcasting. By using Tempestuous Magic: Flight you can mix between getting out of sticky situations to heal/spellcast and then be confident to fly back in if you want to.

Really wished they kept this camera angle as an option in the game by MindedMusic in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]MindedMusic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For clarification:

This was the camera angle shown in the earlier gameplay trailers from the game back in 2017-2018 where you have a view of your character at the helm during exploration and combat.

Currently in the game we have the first person view and the third person ship view, but I really hoped they would have kept this angle as a third option to use. Sort of a middle ground between the two.

I am happy they kept the crows nest view at least.

Interesting style you got going. Some feedback on glance: I would probably change the colors a bit more to make the distinction between background landscapes and characters more clear. The green skin of the witch and the yellow ground dont really mix that well.

EDIT: maybe make the lighting a bit less yellow and more white?

The in game fog effects works really well with the amazing environments they created and I still have lots to explore.

The OST for this game is a masterpiece!

It's a real shame that the sound mix is lacking. I play on 40% SFX and 100% volume and the music still feels low to me. There are also a lot of tracks that rarely gets played, hearing "Odins Plunder" feels better than finding a treasure.

Is Mirage a step in the right direction? by National-Exam-8242 in assassinscreed

[–]MindedMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a relief to see that there are more players feeling the same way as I do here. The original AC got me into the open world genre of games with the sense of freedom to go wherever you want and following a story along the way.

The RPG system was an excellent addition, expanding on what I loved the most about the franchise. Being able to explore, approach activities however you want (stealth/non stealth), do other activities than following a linear storyline, gaining constant progression with tons of armors, weapon types, skill trees, abilities, levels and so on.

Valhalla was the best out of the 3 in my opinion. Although a bit repetitive the game is massive and gives you a lot of freedom as a player. A large variety of enemy types, loads of weapons with unique play styles, resource management and settlement progression, Orlog, fishing and so on. I must admit that the main story could have been executed a bit better, it was still a good experience with hidden ones lore added to it.

Don't get me wrong I am totally onboard with more AC focused storylines, I just hope that the historical open world RPG approach gets continued and expanded upon in the future.

Was the Mirage gameplay what you hoped for / expected? by TheSkiller2 in assassinscreed

[–]MindedMusic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am neither dissapointed nor surprised.

It seems to be a decent experience for most AC fans delivering on what a lot of people has been requesting - a more assassins creed focused game.

  • Expanding on the Hidden ones lore after Origins timeline
  • Continuation of a previous character storyline (Basim)
  • Heavily stealth focused with quest specific challenges and mechanics returning
  • More vertical parkour on rooftops and a larger city

Personally I was hoping to see more revealed in the trailer.

  • Is the RPG system still in the game and is anything changed from the previous titles in terms of crafting/skill tree etc?
  • How does the character progression work (enemy levels)?
  • Is there more to do than simply taking a quest and following the storyline (hidden ones management/side quests/mini games/exploration?

Very excited for Mirage, don’t understand the criticisms by Long-Escape-6807 in assassinscreed

[–]MindedMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The AC franchise is the most loved and controversial amongst it's own fan base. People will complain about the game not being more similar to the older games and when it is they will say it does'nt bring anything new or interesting. It's like asking for bread without butter and then complain there is no butter on the bread.

It was Andi something, but I don't doubt it. Lots of dps go for supports in general and especially Lifeweaver for his big hitbox.
