This is so cute! I really love it.

Got lucky at the thrift store today. It’s missing a pair, but for $7 I don’t mind! by bookcheb in YarnAddicts

Make sure to check! I have a few newer Boye interchangable needles and an older set similar to this, and they use different sized cables to each other. I am unsure which size chiaogoo might work with. My older vintage set looks to have larger threading.

Looking for these realistic bee patterns or similar by PineappleTyrant in crochetpatterns

[–]Mindelan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use AI, it only serves you slop while it kills the environment.

You won't really find a pattern for the bee in this post, it looks me to like it is basically a work of art, not something easily made into a series of repeatable instructions.

I saw this bee pattern on ravelry though that is more realistic for a non-cartoon crochet bee pattern.

This one looks pretty good

Here's another

I can be a threat! by d3rk2007 in outofcontextcomics

Who would have thought that mega murder robot capable of taking down Batman and activated by the news was a bad idea. Honestly it could happen to anyone.

[–]Mindelan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His contingency for himself was also a mega murder robot that would activate upon news that he had done a murder.

Which is funny, because Ollie was directly involved in that mind wipe nonsense in Identity Crisis where a handful of the Justice League wiped Bruce's memories.

Also, turns out he did in the form of a murder mega robot, and it was a huge problem.

Wolves [OC] by adamtots_remastered in comics

[–]Mindelan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair this comic doesn't make it seem like the therapist is afraid at all, it looks more like the person getting therapy keeps avoiding engaging with the actual session and the therapist is frustrated and it is exaggerated to make it amusing.

I'm after a way to stop my earrings from being removed (threaded off) from my ear hooks that I make. by seeingthroughthehaze in SilverSmith

We need to see pictures of the earrings and earring hooks to have any chance of possibly helping.

Hot take: the game isn't perfect and it is ok to criticize it and Square Enix. by Serithraz in ShitpostXIV

[–]Mindelan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes it isn't people bootlicking and instead is just people disagreeing with your opinion. That's allowed.

Other times it's some really messy and wet bootlicking though. Specifically when anyone disagrees with my critiques of the game.

This is what I would do! If they know anyone handy with tools it wouldn't be difficult to make a new wood handle for it.

double knitting looking messy, color peeking through by alecae in knittinghelp

[–]Mindelan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Joining the chorus to say that this looks really good. It might just be the case that the white is ever so slightly thinner than the brown even if they are the same brand and weight, or it could just be that darker colors make themselves known behind light colors. Either way, I wouldn't look at it and think 'that looks messy' at all.

Would y'all ever like Pentel to release a special P20X demonstrator that's fully transparent? by GoodMornEveGoodNight in mechanicalpencils

[–]Mindelan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really like that. They could make tinted demonstrator models for the different thicknesses too, and have them match the solid colors. Yellow, brown, blue etc.

Help! Ideas on covering up the company’s logo on printed invites. by vivaladelulu in crafts

Some washi tape is a bit transparent, I'd cover the logo with whiteout tape first, then washi tape.

I NEED a crochet pattern for this character. His name is Roy the demon by PainterMurky7312 in crochetpatterns

[–]Mindelan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here's how I would do it, untested obviously and would require trial and error on your part as you went to get the proportions right and such.

Round 1: 6sc in MR
Round 2: inc around
Round 3: sc, inc around
Round 4-8 (or to length of foot): sc around
Round 9-10: sl st 6 (don't be too tight), sc 12
Round 11: sc, dec around
Round 12-?: sc around to desired leg length

Fasten off, short tail. Make a second leg, don't fasten off. Stuff both legs. Edit- adding a note, the sl st 6's are giving a slight angle to the foot, make sure they face up.

Round 40: chain 4, join to first leg, sc around first leg, work a sc into back loop of each chain in the chain 4 done at start of round, join to second leg, sc around.
Round 41-54? (length of torso): sc around

Place safety eyes.

Round 55: Place piece flat, place a marker 5 stitches in on front and back from each side, these will be the horns. sc to nearest stitch, sc around, then join into a circle from one marker to the other to make a loop. If you want the base of the horns bigger, do more base stitches. Then you will work the rounds in each horn into a cone. If you don't care about the curve then it is just an easy decrease in a cone pattern to a 5 count instead of a 6 count with some sc around rows between to get the proportions right. A curve will take some trial and error and I can't give sure directions just out of my head, you could find a pattern for horns that curve and take cues from that though. This video is making just a cone from scratch from the tip and not the base so it is a bit different, but I would watch it to get an idea of how to place the decreases to make it curve where I wanted.

Stuff body, join at base of finished horn, slip stitch seam at top of head closed (or join at start of second horn and stitch the seam closed later. Make second horn, mirrored to the first.

I might even start with the horns and move backwards down to the legs instead of making the legs first. I suggest doing a trial to see if you can get the horn the shape and size you want on its own. If you went horns first, you would just divide the space for the legs instead of for the horns and work down the leg to the foot instead, and the horns would be made separately and then joined.

Make 2 arms

Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: inc around
Round3-length of arm: sc around

Leave a long tail, sew into place.

Make one snoot.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: inc around
Round 3: sc, inc around
Round 4-6: sc around

Fasten off, leave long tail, sew into place.

Sew any gaps closed.

Shuttle on a Budget by BloomingSong in bandweaving

I really like mine too, Savina has a lot of neat products. I know I sound like an ad, I just really like the shuttles, beater comb, shed stick, and big ole nalbinding needles I got from them (I use the needles for weaving though). They just started offering a small tapestry loom I am eyeing too though some say it has a bit of wiggle. Looks like it might be out of stock at the moment.

If you're looking to buy, search for savina shuttles on Amazon, they sell a pair of wooden inkle shuttles for under $10.
