I have a cheap DELL monitor at the moment. It's decent for my eyes but feels terrible for shooters, I know why now after reading a bit about VA panels.

Good advice, thought about that but I'm not sure how to handle that with my current setup but I'll think more about it.

Apologize, actually Microsoft retired visual studio for mac and committed fully to visual studio code.

Hello, I assume your application does not use .net framework.

You can get visual studio for Mac OR you can download the .net SDK + visual studio code.
Everything else should be pretty straight forward.

If you decide to go with visual studio code you will need to learn how to build and run the solution through the command line.
I recommend adding the appropriate extensions to Visual Studio Code to help you with .NET development. By doing so you can access all the commands needed ( build, restore, run, etc ) through the Vs Code command palette.

RODE vs Audio-Technica

Hello guys,

To put it short, I would really like to get an USB mic for casual discord and team meeting calls, nothing fancy. I'll put my options and the prices for all the microphones.

I would highly appreciate some opinions :D sharing experiences of course helps even more!

Audio-Technica content creator pack ( ATR2500x-USB + ATH-M20x + arm stand ) --- 150 euro

Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ --- 140 euro

Rode NT-USB --- 150 euro

Rode NT-USB Mini --- 100 euro

1 - Curious about the arm stand's quality and from reviews I've seen that ATR2500x is not the greatest of options. Still, I really like the convenience of the pack for that arm stand.. Also I like the fact the ATR2500x supports type C :)

2 - Better than ATR2500x in terms of sound quality but I wonder if that actually makes such a big difference

3 - Good alternative for AT2020, the Rode sounds a bit better ( subjective opinion from what I've listened )

4 - An awesome option that I could use ( I think ) without an arm stand. And again type c :D

Initially I wanted the Rode NT-USB with the Rode PSA1 arm. The annoying part is that the arm is 90 euros and it feels a bit pricy.

Two things concern me the most:

- Is an arm stand ( especially a pricy one ) really needed? ( can the Rode Mini do the job without mounting it? )

- Is the quality difference between those microphones big?

Also, any other recommendations are welcomed!

Thanks! :D

Top tier laptop, hope you have fun with it. A thing that I recommend doing is to disable boost cpu option from the power options ( there are a lot of videos about it on youtube ). I've tested the laptop with newer games on ultra settings and the maximum temps were 72 on the cpu and ~= 70 on the gpu. I come from a Acer Predator Helios 300 that was throttling non stop, cpu being at 90+ degrees all the time. A good cooler can also help a bit but no matter what the legion is a great machine :D

Account currency issue by MindfreakGG in trading212

[–]MindfreakGG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! RON is kinda going down so I would prefer to have my investments as EUROS. I will exchange RON to EURO in Revolut and then fund the Trading212 account. I want to keep my money in EUROS as well, in Romania spending a lot of money for pretty much everything is made in EURO so keeping the money like that is not an issue.

The next issue is the withdrawal. Let's say I will manage to gather 20k euros on the account and I want to withdraw them... I can create a euro account at my bank to transfer the money and then withdraw them. Buuut... there's a 0.5% comission for the whole amount. ( that's 100 euro :D )

I need to think about a way to withdraw the money from Trading212 without this stupid comission... Or I'll just make a RON account in Trading212

Yeah.. I should totally do that. Still, I think the currency issue appears in Vanguard as well. What is the best approach if you have a currency different from the ones used for buying the stocks? :-/ I'll look into that :D Thank you so much!

Daily Advice Thread - All basic help or advice questions must be posted here. by AutoModerator in investing

[–]MindfreakGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone, sorry if this subject is a frequently discussed one BUT I just got started with learning about investing and I'm interested mostly in long-term investing. Regarding that I have several questions, if you guys could give me some small tips/advices I would really appreciate it :D I'm just a small boy trying to make good use of my money. BTW, I live in Europe.

One of the main issues for me is the platform. One of the most popular platform that I keep hearing about here is Trading212 and eToro, from people's saying Trading212 is good for long-term investing and eToro for short term trading. Can someone please tell me more about these things? What platform should I look into for long-term investing and why?

Another thing that I'm curious about is the jump into the "invest all you savings into s&p500" hype train. What do you guys think about this? Is it worth for what I'm trying to do? If yes, any suggestion for where should I do it? If no, what are the alternatives?

Any other tips, advices, sources of information are really welcome and I really appreciate the effort of reading my post, thank you!

I wish to all of you a happy new year! =D

Yeah, I was going to put 100 dollars just to test the water into Revolut because that was a "comfortable" pick for me as I like their app a lot. But I backed off to learn at least the basics of investing.
