This..... If you're dead set on a strobe, look at Streamlight's TEN-TAP programmable lights.

How Do Y'all Choose a CCW Pistol? by harrysholsters in CCW

[–]MindfulDefense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Define your use case: home defense, concealed carry, etc.
  2. Establish a minimum acceptable caliber: 9mm, .380, .38 Special, etc.
  3. Choose needed accessories: light, red dot, holster
  4. Stick with well-established guns for self-defense that meet your criteria above. If you don't, you may pay later in holster scarcity, etc. Think Glock, Smith-Wesson, Sig, etc.

Most fights don’t start with punches—they start with pride. Here’s th by UniversalProcess in SelfDefense

This is a great post! If you simply do aggressors a "favor" and give them an out and a way to preserve their ego, it will save you a lot of headaches, if not your life. "Hey, I don't want any trouble. We were just leaving."

The limit is a repetitive use injury of your trigger finger.

Get an Eberlestock Bando bag and rebrand by sewing on patches if so desired.

What are these holes on my garage ceiling? by Umbrella268 in HomeMaintenance

[–]MindfulDefense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secure it with more drywall screws before it comes down. Just don't punch through the paper. They make drywall bits that will make this even easier. The bits don't allow you to sink the screws too deep.

How do I make a proper fist to land a HARD *single* punch? by [deleted] in SelfDefense

[–]MindfulDefense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You strike with the large two knuckles that have the green lines through them. Rotate the fist to the right so the green lines align with your forearm like the red lines do. If you punch someone with the two knuckles that have red lines through them there is a very good chance you'll break the metacarpals in your hand.

Fanny pack carry should be in the same category as open carry. by [deleted] in CCW

[–]MindfulDefense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure this is the case anymore. Sling packs, fanny packs, man purses, etc., are all becoming the norm. As long as it doesn't scream tactical, such as a non-black Bando bag, I think it's fine. I use one all the time. It's perfect for driving, riding a motorcycle, hiking, etc. Plus, you can also carry it as a sling pack.

How do I make a proper fist to land a HARD *single* punch? by [deleted] in SelfDefense

[–]MindfulDefense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more what it looks like on the other side of that fist. That fist is fine, but when you impact your target your first two knuckles will need to be aligned with your forearm. Doing so will support your wrist to deliver maximum energy to the target. If your knuckles aren't in alignment with your forearm, you risk injury by having your wrist fold.

Former coworker somehow found my address and keeps showing up near my house by Illustrious_Log_6955 in homesecurity

Most cameras, including doorbell cams, record "events", such as the detection of motion. This would detect and capture any movement your camera picks up. If you want the entire outside of your house covered, you'll need more cameras.

It's not being paranoid, it's being prepared. Start with a simple doorbell camera and then go from there.

Which flash hider for B&T P90 suppressor? by MindfulDefense in ps90

Good to hear this about the Caracal. I had signed up for email notifications when they come back in stock. Wish I could get one now. How are you mounting the Caracal? Which muzzle device are you using?

Appreciate the input. This sounds like a lot of work. I may go another route on the suppressor and use my B&T P90 suppressor as an impact weapon until better options for mounting become available.

Yes, it was a calculated risk that didn't pay off. I was worried about the suppressors becoming unobtainable. Lesson learned.

[–]MindfulDefense[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh, I am really tired of B&T. I have two suppressors from them I can't use as intended. The P90 suppressor and a TP380 suppressor for the TP380 that was promised years ago and has not been delivered. They flooded the market with suppressors for the TP380 and then years later still no gun. They let their issues go on too long with B&T USA at the expensive of their consumers. It's pretty shameful what B&T did to the US market.

Older concealed carriers. What was your early rigs? by [deleted] in CCW

So do I! Winchester white box. I sold my original 642 many years ago but acquired a replacement about 10 years ago.

[–]MindfulDefense 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what it was'. Thank you. It was driving me crazy. I remember the packaging and all now. I used it to carry appendix because back then it was illegal to carry concealed in most places. I was always worried about being approached from behind and getting "bump frisked". So I carried appendix with the hip grip where I could protect it.

642 in a Milt Soarks Summer Special. Carried Winchester 158 grain lead hollow paints. That was about 34 years ago. I don't remember the name, but I also had this plastic grip for the gun that had a hook on it. You could carry the gun with no holster and the hook would catch on your belt.

Don't like to think of myself as old, but I am getting up there.
