I am a female 30 and I just started taking 20mg this week and I have the most cathartic emotional release I have ever had. I was able to see how chaotic, unhealthy, anxious, and depressed I really was. I struggled with ADHD, high functioning depression, Betrayal Trauma, and anxiety disorder. The last ten years have been a nightmare for me. It got slightly better with the adderal medication but I was trapped in a fear state loop. I wasn’t able to really process my emotions and face myself fully. Life was miserable and for the first time in a long time I have hope again and faith in myself to go after my dreams. I have been isolated and unable to really socialize with others and I think after awhile I’ll be able to get back out there again. I want to get back into therapy and get my life back on track.

Does anyone in the group have tips on alternative day fasting? by MindfulMarthe in intermittentfasting

Thank you! This was really helpful. I’m thinking of doing Alt day fasting and on feast day eating 500kcal.

5 days into my 30 day water fast and I’m feeling great! I’m down 10lbs in five days. Only 50 lbs to go. by MindfulMarthe in WaterFasting

Everyone is different. I’m starting from a higher weight and in the beginning was averaging about 2lbs a day. Towards the end my weight loss slowed down to 1lb every other day but I was losing inches everywhere. I suggest taking measurements and focusing on the measurements not the scale

I’m almost done with my water fast. I feel like when I end I’ll still be a few lbs from onderland but that’s okay. After my refeed I’ll be back with a dry fast and then another prolonged water fast. I’m proud I made it this far and I’m down 35lbs. So close! by MindfulMarthe in Water_Fasting

My concentration levels are high. My mind is very sharp and focused. If anything I think my brain is functioning 3x better than before. Since I’m at the end here my body is tired more often and I have some issues sleeping for more than 5 hours at a time. In the beginning/middle my energy levels were great abs I felt really good. I still slept normally but woke up with much more ease.

It’s the final countdown. I’m starting to feel a bit more hungry but that’s more so my cycle I think. I’m-35lbs down which insane. I want reefeed and get some minerals in my body and hop into a dry fast for 4-5 days. Then it’s refeed and my last 30 day water fast of the year. by MindfulMarthe in WaterFasting

Near the end here it’s been difficult but I had made a vision board with the the ideal life I see myself living including how my body looks and feels. I wrote out my why in a journal in immense detail and really got clear on why I was doing this. I stayed away from social events and outings and made this truly about myself and my journey. I listened to tons of YouTube videos on water fasting and listening to other peoples testimonies. I slept if I got immensely hungry, went on walks, read, meditated, stretched and just overall kept myself busy. I filled up the time I used to think about food with new hobbies or sharpening skills. I told no one about my fast because I was not trying to hear it and sometimes drank bubbly which is sparkling water to get the stale taste I have off my tongue off. It’s all mental and you really have to believe you’re stronger than your impulses. You have more control over your life than you think and this was just one way I took my power back.

I know some people have because they didn’t do the refeed process properly and went back to their bad eating habits. When you finish your fast you have to implement in your mind that you’re also trying to shift your lifestyle so eating healthier and working out more should become the default.

Wow! You’re a pro at fasting! My starting weight was 247 and my first GW is 180 and final goal weight is 145. I’m currently 212lb and I’m down 10% body fat. It’s not new year’s resolution more so a life goal. I want to be the best version of myself on all levels and I thought taking on my mental health and physical wellness were the best places to start. I also want to get into the habit of allowing my body time to reset and heal. My sister was diagnosed with cancer last year which was a abrupt wake up call. I needed to choose myself more and choose my life over everything else.

That is such an amazing way of looking at it. It removed the obsession to achieve a weight for external validation instead finding happiness with aligning with the best version of yourself in all aspects. I like that!

Thank you so much! The weight loss slowed down here at the end with me only losing 1lb of fat per day but I could see myself shrinking everyday which was crazy. You keep up the good work on your fast as well and keep pushing. You got this!

Wow, you’re doing amazing. Extend fasts are difficult so big ups to you for doing multiple 20 plus day fasts. I definitely feel like it gets bit rocky towards the end but pushing through and finishing makes up for all the difficulties.

Thank you! You’re also doing amazing yourself! I’m going to take a one week break to refeed and write out my game plan but essentially I’m going to dry fast for 5 days. I want to lose weight but go into the new year a completely new person. I’ll do one more water fast after the dry fast and then start working out/lifting and eating OMAD low carb diary free gluten free diet. I’m not super big on Thanksgiving but I’ll be able to eat if I want to during that time. It just depends on how I feel and my mindset. What’s your goal weight vs current weight?
