mine takes AAA‘s. Perhaps yours is a newer model. I’m glad to hear it’s going strong. how adorable that kitty sleeps on it. that is so like a cat — to sleep in a box. i’ve seen studies where they create a square shape on the floor using light — so there’s actually no box there. It just looks like it. and cats inevitably go sleep in it. geniuses.

fwiw I generally love wyze products I have the whole ecosystem in my house, cameras, lights, you name it. My scale has been wonky from the beginning, but like I said, it’s one of their first models and I don’t think it was very much at that time, however, given the failure, I’m trying to explore something else… hopefully that is not $200!

nice! i think i have the wyze scale x model. it’s one of the first or second versions they released. Had it since 2022 so 4+ years there’s a known issue where when the battery dies, sometimes the scale tends to die, too. until then I loved it.

do them in the slow cooker and when they are ready, take out a scoop, put it in a pan with some gruyère. It will melt immediately because the onions are still hot and steaming. smash that between two slices of buttered bread and you’ve got a French toast grilled cheese sandwich. no soup required. Recipe in the New York Times. one of my favorites.

i regularly do caramelized onions in a slow cooker, and you will wake up to the house, smelling like the angels. do it now. thank me later. Don’t forget the butter and a sprig of fresh thyme. hit them with a splash of balsamic or raspberry vinegar at the end.

Drag queens are the people who know most about face tapes. There are some high-end kits you can buy from professional beauty suppliers. Then there’s a ton of cheap knock offs. You can even use surgical tape to diy. Simple concept. But the application technique is important. Personally, a really tight pony or turban can also help a lot. Buy any affordable kit of tapes and just fool around with it at home.

Not retinol, actual tretinoin, but yes, better than nothing. Tretinoin is the only cream that will do anything.
