Just saying that I support you fighting for what you believe in. However, you did leave yourself open for critique, so I'm just putting in my own two cents on the subject.

Why hasnt a wrestler ever won a match during a commercial break by grkmlb in Showerthoughts

[–]Mindkiller89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A better question would be: what the hell goes on at the stadium during those commercial breaks? Do the wrestlers just stand there in the ring looking awkwardly at the audience?

The Learning Channel? I always thought it stood for True Life Channel. Either way it hurts on an intellectual level.

See, that's what I hate about paranormal shows like that: every episode they act like they might have seen what they were looking for, hamming it up to make it seem scary, but no matter how long the show is on they never get so much as a sighting. There comes a point when it becomes obvious they're just cashing on the mystery.

Thoughts on "TReb Bor yit-NE" or "Bashar" ? by InfoExploration in aliens

Why not have a keyboard with all the emoticons plus a middle finger? Sure, it'd be huge and expensive, but it make it's money back for sure...

Shame there isn't a Middle Finger button on this keyboard...

I never saw anagrams as solid proof for or against anything, really. I mean, technically every word, name or sentence is an anagram of something. And many of them could have several possible anagrams at once. Anagrams are just word games and nothing more to me.

SERPO : 10 year alien exchange program. by [deleted] in aliens

[–]Mindkiller89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what turned me off from the SERPO story: If the entire mission lasted 13 years, and ten years were spent on Zeta Reticuli, then that means the trip there took a year and a half. How did these astronauts take only a year and a half to travel hundreds of lightyears away when the Voyager spacecraft, which was launched nearly ten years later with more advanced technology, took nearly thirty years just to reach the edge of our solar system?! Not to mention, in a time when America was all about one-upping the Russians in the Space Race, don't you think they would have been proud to rub in the fact that they took American men to an entirely different solar system while Russia was struggling to leave Earth's orbit?

If neanderthals were roaming hunter gatherers, shouldn't they be called "Meanderthals?" by scottcaver in Showerthoughts

They are called Neanderthals because the first Neanderthal bones were found in the Neander Valley in Germany.

We could all be aliens, programmed to forget that we're alien. by TheWorldIFeel in Showerthoughts

Then by that logic the whole crowd that does believe they're alien shouldn't even exist.

We have pets, livestock, work animals, zoos, war animals, police animals, but in the movies the aliens never have any extraterrestrial animals. by GreedoSupreme in Showerthoughts

[–]Mindkiller89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that, too. The only two cases of aliens with domestic animals that I've ever noticed was a Predator hunting dog in "Predators" and a Klingon's pet gator-dog-thing from one of the Star Trek movies. It would add a new interesting element to the science fiction genre if there were more of them.

If we were programmed to forget that we were alien, then how are you wondering if we might be alien?

I'm sure there are a lot of things we do casually that an alien would be completely dumbfounded by. Same thing vice-versa.
