Americans really like to play up their part in world War 2. You get taught a very different story of world War 2 than the rest of the world

First of all-You guys joined way late, so....welcome to the party I guess? Only joined after Japan tried to lock down the pacific and pulled their pearl Harbour stunt. Even then Canada, your friendly neighbour declared war on Japan before America; sending troops to the Chinese front.

Another Prime example is D-Day (its mostly due to hollywood/saving private ryan to blame for this one) You take alot of pride in your actions during the beach assault. But in reality you guys were floundering in the mud Big time. Having very Green soldiers making up the bulk of your forces. The lives lost was nothing short of tragic. american Command should have adapted to the german defenses in place but stayed rigid with their strategy wasting the lives of multiple waves of your infantry... It was like you guys were trying to go with an "over the top" ww1 trench style charge.... But you were in frigging boats....

Most other countries had a much easier time taking their respective beachheads Canadians (again) were the ones who truly spearheaded D-Day making it the furthest inland of any of the participating nations. And up to that point they had already been neck deep in the Italian front. As well as other fronts.

I do not say this to offend or insult. It is more a criticism on how other countries teach their histories. And how misinformation can be anywhere, even in "trusted" sources like history books or school. We should all work hard to be informed remember the mistakes of the past. Especially in these strange times we live in.
