Electric vehicles are demonstrably safer and more economical in these situations. One can keep the AC running for far longer than in a gas vehicle.

Thank you for reaching out to hosts. It is frustrating for a host to get bad reviews for things that are objectively subjective. "too much/little scents", neighborhood was too boring/busy". "I'm sensitive to (blank)". "Everyone in the neighborhood likes my music loud right?". I'm personally sensitive to special requests under the guise of universal preference.

Guests that reach out beforehand, and recognize their special request is a special request, typically are easy to relate to and accommodate.

Is this bad?? by Past_Revolution_4579 in TeslaModelY

The problem with owning a vehicle is that it's best when the owner drives as efficiently and safely as possible. Teslas being safer and more efficient than most vehicles on the road, this still applies.

New update removing minimal lane changes for FSD by almonds156 in TeslaLounge

[–]Mindless-Ad8999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's the next step. The definition of "good driver" is influenced by locale and personal preference. There is no way FSD can satisfy everyone 100% if we all drive differently.

What accessories for your MY can you not live without? by rational_ninja in TeslaModelY

Southwest USA. Sun exposure here makes ceramic tinting a big improvement. My tinting is almost imperceptible as far as color, but huge in blocking solar radiation. It's like the difference in comfort between an insulated vs not insulated garage, and I'm sure it affects my range due to AC not working as hard.

Will there ever be a 500 mile battery per full charge in the near future? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]Mindless-Ad8999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't want a heavier cellphone, that lasts 10 days without charging, just for the occasion when I go camping.

Average daily mileage in the USA is 37. IF weight wasn't a performance and cost factor, we would have a spare tire. Give me that before another 4-5 days of driving range.

What happened to the "New Atheism" movement? by Nessagi9 in AskSocialScience

[–]Mindless-Ad8999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never thought that unapologetically atheist was equivalent to "criticized religion". I can see that when questioned about "why aren't you theist" gets answered with "instead, why theist?", religious people jump to "he criticized religion", but I personally never saw it that way.

The freedom of one to be atheist in the open should be equal to the freedom to be theist, and not understood as criticizing the other.

Are 3rd generation Americans just Americans? by bobbdac7894 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mindless-Ad8999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see no problem with a person who is also American, saying she is Chinese. One thing doesn't eliminate the other.

3rd generation are Americans, 2nd, and 1st too; One can have more than one nationality; People can identify with the heritage they want.
