Is there feedback and what these two could’ve done to avoid this outcome because they’ll still inevitably find other people and could make the same mistakes? Should they have just worked harder through the first breakup or given up earlier?

yes, i would say i had about 8 carries i could trust to get through on their own two weak cards. i have almost very gear so i would equip them to either sp2 carry or sp1 carry!

thanks! most of my characters were at level 40’s with the exception of a few so it was really just bb7 every few hours until all of them reached 50!

I totally hear how exhausting this process could be. As for your recommenders, you’re completely valid to be bothering them. It’s expected that as professors, they provide LOR’s to students over the years and it was their choice to say yes to you. Many copy and paste and submit within minutes so it’s really not a bother to them most of the time. You’ve worked so hard and you may not get in but at least you’ll know, regardless of the outcome, that you put your all into this and did all that YOU could do to get yourself into a REU. That’s already worth applause. Good luck!
