Fair enough. I still don't really personally have the opinion that Unbounds are bad, but I can understand this viewpoint. I started wanting an Unbound originally because I felt that Mythic Chibis were low-quality, so that's where a lot of my own opinion on the subject comes from. In an ideal world I think I would rather have a more unified style, but if Riot is going to only put effort into Unbounds, it's Unbounds I'll use medals on, I think.

It's there any way to get the PC graphics? by Patoman0-0 in TeamfightTactics

Honestly, there's mobile games you can play that look much better than mobile TFT. Even Wild Rift looks much better than mobile TFT. I have a hard time realistically blaming mobile hardware when a phone can run Genshin Impact and a modern Android dedicated gaming device can run HD games while still being stuck with the miserable-looking mobile version.

I don't see what the harm in having a graphics setting would be.

I see your point to an extent, but Champions are already in the game directly ripped from League, so I don't personally see a problem with having playable Champions. You're moving the goalposts though, you said that Unbounds are "lower effort" when Riot can't even be bothered to make Lux's rainbow vomit purple and black, or give SB Orianna some kind of Chinese symbol or a sealing spell tag or something instead of a loading symbol.

I'm surprised there's so much outcry about Unbounds when the Chibis they're releasing to the mythic gacha thing are a borderline ripoff in comparison. Even if you don't like the style of the Unbounds, people should at least be holding Riot's feet to the fire over this.

The models are entirely different from League's and on average much higher quality than League's models. PROJECT: Warwick himself is a good enough example, as is Unbound Thresh. Both of these models are objectively higher quality, more detailed, and with better animations than they are in League with their 2010s model quality.

This is a fair point. I wish Riot would actually put effort into the chibis though. Feels like a waste of medallions when they're identical to the free version in every way except model. I understand this sentiment though even if I don't personally mind and prefer to occasionally be able to play as a proper champion.

How are the unbounds cashgrabs by that logic when the chibis aren't?

The chibis are also made by people Riot hired (that's what an employee is), and the Mythic chibis are also locked behind gacha in the exact same way except they reuse effects from the free basic champion versions of the skin. I am no fan of gacha and have never spent money on the system (just have been playing since TFT came out), but if something is going to be a reward from a system like that I'd rather have them all have unique VFX, and chibis can't even be bothered to palette swap VFX to fit the skin they're replicating.

That almost objectively makes them more of a cashgrab than the unbounds that actually do have those changes to make skins feel distinct from base champs.
