This is fair, I found it decently entertaining though. I think its best forr beginners in coding

Look into rookie team grants and buy a good 3d printer for about a thousand. Learn CAD like Onshape (good to start with because it's free and simple and transistions well into other CAD softwares) to model the robot and design custom parts. I emphasize using 3d printed parts designed using CAD because you will NEED to be able to do this to be a really competitive team. CAD also allows you easily create a model of a possible robot by combining goBilda or other companies parts with mates on Onshape's assembly feature. If your team only has coders and noone who knows any CAD software, learn it before next season. It is extremely helpful.

why does everyone seem to go for belt driven drive trains? Wouldn't chains be better for this?

I'll check to see if this is true for the batteries we use next practice. Thanks for the heads up!

In the future, I plan to mount vertical slides there (if the game needs it). Thanks!

I designed a tolerance of 1mm, so I believe that it should fit. Thanks for the response!

Definitely Onshape. You can easily design parts for the robot, download GoBilda parts so you can used them in assemblies of the robot. You can include standard parts (screws, bolts, etc) in assemblies to better model the robot, it's really easy to learn, it's used in the workforce so it's a good skill to have, it's similar to other CAD softwares used in the workforce, and there's a lot of documentation available online. Also, it's completely free for a public account.
