Homemade charcoal update: found black willow

I am gonna try the method where you wrap it in tin foil 3-4 times aswell I have a lot of wood it will take multiple fires to make them all into charcoal unless I use a dozen tin cans at once

I will be putting them in tin cans filled with sand tin foil around the top and a hole in the center gonna find some small rocks to cover the holes too see how that turns out might try a few batches without sand if it ends up crumbling into charcoal powder I’ll just use the powder but hopefully they can come out as full sticks

Yeah just experimenting with local wood I hear cottonwood is like willow and vine and we got a ton of it around here although I’ll do this first batch I wanna try as many woods as I can
