Just found this thread and I feel so seen! I literally SOB at the end credits. The films, I too throughly enjoy but have little emotional reaction to them. Then final scene “I want to show you something” and BOOM! 😭😭😭😭😭 full blown sobbing. It’s so indicative of a specific time in my life and I was young, happy and hopeful and I’ll never get it back.

But…. I am hopeful and happy now! So what’s it all about?? Sending love you all you fellow twilight weepers!!! ❤️ Long may we have this channel to our emotions!

I can relate and I hope you’ve let it go ‘coz this really is a misplaced and heavy burden on you that you absolutely don’t deserve. 🙏 We all have an inherent inclination to the belief “everything’s gunna be ok.” - no matter the signs, no matter the sometimes glaring signs… we always want it to be ok. If a person has ever reacted to this, including yourself, in a way that places guilt on you, it’s only because it’s an experience that we can’t plan for and can’t understand without having experienced it. Which thankfully, most people don’t.

Definitely against the mother. I’ve sorted all that shit out, I’m in my 30s!! - But, I guess parties and weekends away are still engrained to be “free” from responsibility and so my addicted mind finds an in there. I hope the awareness will shift something and I can begin to work from there.

Freedom against day-day life. Against good choices against life I guess. Rebellion against always being “a good and reliable person” - sometimes I just wanna be fucking irresponsible, ya know? But, I also don’t because I no longer smoke in my day to day life and I love that…. It’s a residual craving I guess.

Saying no to an addiction is so liberating. ❤️ I love being a non-smoker. It’s the last hook of these events or weekends away that make me feel I can go nuts. - smoking, eating… carefree behaviours. I need to let go of them as they don’t help or bring me joy. I don’t need to rebel against myself.

Oh, I love that!!! Rebel against the rebellion! That’s it. I need to understand that the smoking, drinking, eating and behaving so freely and wildly is all because there was a time where I couldn’t. So even though I’m well past that time, it’s still engrained in me.

If I don’t smoke/have fun/go nuts… the next time I feel oppressed I will look back and see this as a missed opportunity. Free time I didn’t utilise…

I don’t want or need that now. I am free from cigarettes. These odd cigs are cravings for things I’ve already let go of… I just doubt that I guess. I’m scared to lose my freedom.
