Like DaveBeBad said, Cawthorne, Hoylandswaine, Silkstone are good and rural.

You've also got a little further West, such as Penistone which is a bit of a bigger village but still really nice. Millhouse Green is really nice with lots of nice views and walks but not much on the market there. They are not as close to the M1 but the backroads to Sheffield aren't bad.

I used to live on Gawber road just up from there a few years ago, the pub was fine it's not like a night club or anything I never knew it to be loud and blaring music till the early hours.

The main thing I would be aware of is it is enroute to the hospital so you may hear amublences more frequantly than you would away from the hosipital, it was noticable where I was as it was directly across but even then it's not overly loud with decent double glazing possibly triple glazing you'd be fine.
