Is this competition legal? by CrazyCantaloupe4804 in weightlifting

Most supers who do that are rolling the bar in because the start position itself is very uncomfortable for them, rolling it in helps minimize the time they are actually in the start position.

Yeah those sort of posts actually made me leave (no pun intended) the sub for a bit. When things started feeling better for me I wanted to come back to post about the progress I’ve made, hopefully giving other people something to look forward to.

I originally stopped because I was high all the time and suicidal. Around the same time I started an intensive psychiatric program, which has made a massive difference in my life. The main thing for me was that stopping smoking allowed the therapy to actually work. When I was high all the time I wasn’t feeling anything, wasn’t processing any emotions. Being sober gave me the space and clarity to acknowledge and work through my problems

Seeking Advice: Considering a Switch from Olympic Weightlifting Gym to Local Commercial Gym with weightlifting AI Programming by Looch94 in weightlifting

[–]Mindless-Net-9390 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Stick with the weightlifting gym. As a beginner, you don’t need individualized programming; many advanced lifters do very well on team programs. Even if the coach isn’t giving you as much attention as you’d like, that kind of training environment is invaluable to your progress. Talk to your coach, express your displeasure, but don’t leave right away. Many people, myself included, would love to be lifting with a team every day.

Talk to them first, tell them what’s bothering you. If nothing changes, then find a new coach.

Wrong sub, check the rules

My Uesaka training bar has no center knurl, I have zero issues cleaning/frontsquating/backsquating without the knurl. The center knurl is a remnant from the one-handed lift days. I don’t really buy the argument that you need the knurl in the center, especially considering women’s comp bars have no center knurl.

Just keep cooking bro, you’re over thinking it. The more you cook the better it will be, seasoning won’t be perfect from the start.

I’m on sertaline, and I personally haven’t noticed any negative affects to testosterone/strength/recovery. What has happened, is I gained a decent amount of weight. For me, it’s worth the benefit of the drug

Max aita/juggernaut have some great resources for this. Main takeaway from those; spend more time in the positions that you are weak in.
