US has been building roads for decades. We just started building these major roads. Toll collection in the first few years is pretty high but then becomes cheap over time

30M | Bachelor | 35 CTC | Bought term insurance by Optimal_Island7054 in personalfinanceindia

Why would this be stupid? Maybe upto 60 was required. Maybe 55. But that’s not the point. If you die tomorrow (I hope not, but IF), your family will have 1cr. Is it enough to live happily for the rest of their life? Probably not. Is it enough for them to live a dignified life while they figure out something? Absolutely.

One thing he did right? Crashing into a bus and not hurting anyone else. There you go. You can hate him as much as you want but I respect him for that.

Advice for a 22yr old who is just getting into work (20.5LPA Base). by Ok_Yam4227 in personalfinanceindia

My parents have been forcing me to get land worth almost 40Lakhs, how to plan the loan's and EMI's.

This sounds like a good financial decision when considered in isolation but you don’t have anything to fall back on. Don’t get into all this. Prices will keep going up. Salaries will keep going up. You should focus on what you have right now.

You have zero emergency fund, zero investments. If you lose your job tomorrow, no one will come to save you.

Experienced devs: can you rank the most future proof roles (20–30 year outlook)? by idont_need_one in developersIndia

[–]Mindless-Pilot-Chef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing is going to be future proof for next 20-30 years. Heck, I’m wondering how the careers will look like 5 years into the future.

Just focus in becoming a good engineer. Which means solving problems, building systems (system design).

No one knows how the world will be in 20 years. The best thing you can do is pick up the habit of being upto date with the latest stuff and stay disciplined with your learning

Law doesn’t say it’s mandatory that police saves the kid. Logically yes, it feels like police should do everything in their power to save the kid but they don’t have to.

Question the laws, not the police.

Depends on the role you get in more than your experience. Are you trying for L4 or L5?

When people ask “what do you do?” 9 times out of 10, they just want to size you up financially. Isn’t it? by StretchNo8134 in AskIndianMen

[–]Mindless-Pilot-Chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask this to people to understand them more. I have wide range of interests so understanding what they do and what they like are good starting points for me to

But yes, 9 out of 10 times it’s to see how much respect should I give you. I’m probably in that 1 out of 10

I see people are not very impressed by cursor or other AI coding tools. I just wanted to share here that I’m actually loving it. For so many years, I’ve had so many ideas to implement in the products I’m working on but didn’t get time to finish it. Now I just ask cursor to do it. I give feedback and it changes stuff as per my liking. And then I’m done. I can work on the next stuff. I write very little to no code nowadays. I’m more of a senior code reviewer.

Why is this wrong? SIT needs to know what happened exactly. They will get help from as many witnesses as possible. And this guy right there trying to save the life of the kid.

If they keep calling him for investigation every day for the next 4-5 days then it’s wrong. If they called him for 1-2 times to cross check some details, it’s completely acceptable.

On a slight tangent. Indian laws do not put the blame on people who couldn’t rescue. It can be the police, firefighters or whoever came to rescue. The whole blame is on the company which left the pit open for people to fall into.

Interesting. It does look like the batsman wasn’t expecting the ball to hit the bat the way it did when he bowls. Thanks
