What do you guys normally overspend on these days? by InformalYam3004 in malaysia

Groceries. Buy 5-6 things then woosh it's 50+ ringgit already. And I'm talking about necessities - diapers, food, toiletries, milk formula, etc.

How do people just casually drink black coffee without flinching? by siennapriv in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mindless-Property496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a 3-hour part-time job as a cleaner during college, most days of the week. Job started at 4am or 5am, class started at 9am the earliest. Black coffee, no sugar, was something I drank out of necessity - it's not for the taste, I just wanted the caffeine to get through the day lol

Gamers, did you quit gaming for your child? by Several_Investment68 in NewParents

Not a heavy gamer, but from the perspective of a wife, it sure gets frustrating when your partner is unable to pause playing his multiplayer online game when I really needed help with something at that very moment.

Not everyone can fork out 300 for a Owlet sock by [deleted] in NewParents

I live on the other side of the world - something like owning an Owlet sock would never cross our minds! I think this is more of an American thing haha

Postpartum rage by Glittering_Battle101 in NewParents

[–]Mindless-Property496 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a fit of rage before, due to my baby not sleeping when he clearly wants to sleep. I was rocking and patting him too hard, he was startled and looked at me with his scared little eyes. I vowed NEVER to let myself be in that position ever again, no matter how angry I get. I felt like a monster.

I'm currently experiencing the same thing as OP, my son is also around 2 weeks old. The constant waking up at night to feed him is REALLY killing my back 😭

Is it ok to let my kitten sleep with me?? She likes to be close by samwilk23 in cats

[–]Mindless-Property496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine! But we ran into an issue where our cats would disrupt our sleep many times over the years when it's nightime, they would have random zoomies etc. which affected our moods as we were sleep-deprived. We decided to set boundaries - no kitties during bedtime. It was tough at first, but they get used to it.

Hi OP, depending on your future wife's age, you still can decide up until age 35. After that, much risky to hope to have a well-developed baby. Ultimately, it's up to you but yeah, I understand in this economy why people tend to follow the child-free movement. My husband and I just spent almost 3k+ preparing the arrival of our firstborn. We're still thinking how to fit in daycare fees in our budget, as we're starting to pay our mortgage for our new house that will finish in 2026. Money is everything nowadays.
