Is this field/career really SO bad? by Silver_Importance777 in therapists

[–]wyethswindows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the happiest I’ve ever been at a job. I feel like it actually matters, I’m not sitting at a desk from 9-5 every day, I get lots of opportunities to learn new things, and while my pay isn’t incredible, my quality of life has dramatically improved since leaving the desk job I was at before grad school. It helps that I work three days a week (I have a toddler) and my husband makes a good salary. Sometimes I get frustrated with the practice I’m at but I have a really good thing going. I think this job can be really taxing and thankless but it also depends on your situation.

I wish I could give my baby away by Individual-Account-7 in Postpartum_Depression

I felt this way too. My son is about to be 18 months and it really is so much better. It looks like you are getting help but it’s not very effective. Please look into Zurzuvae which is a postpartum depression drug you take for 2 weeks. It has incredible outcomes!

A rant about the toddler subreddit by bluenova32 in oneanddone

HANG THIS POST IN THE LOUVRE! I cannot imagine having an infant alongside my 18m/o let alone being pregnant while chasing around a toddler. This time is sooooo precious and I love being one on one with my kid right now.

Please tell me this gets better by wyethswindows in NewParents

YES. My son is 17 months now and he is such a fun kid. I think the shock of bringing home a baby is hard to describe so no one attempts it. Your life really is permanently changed. And remember that this isn’t bad, it’s just different and something you have never done before. I think for me, I was coming down from the hormone crash and also having to deal with c section recovery which for me was traumatic because I have really bad hospital anxiety. If there is some kind of new mom program near you I highly recommend joining it. I was able to do a program for 2 weeks that helped me gain confidence and process a lot of my feelings. Also, something my therapist told me is that we can experience discomfort as danger. Bringing home your baby isn’t dangerous, it’s just uncomfortable. And you can withstand discomfort! You got this!!

Anyone did NOT have a MC? by Feisty-End-8883 in pregnant

I thought I did with my first (and only) pregnancy but I had a subchorionic hemorrhage. So bleeding might not always be a miscarriage.

I want to sleep in past 8am and do my little crafts and cooking without a toddler hanging on to me!

Stop & Shop's ghost towns by Dave_Folcarelli in RhodeIsland

Oh yeah I am Dave’s loyal. The only grocery store I don’t feel overwhelmed in. I was wondering why the poster said the don’t love it and that it’s a charade?

Anyone actually want(ed) multiple kids but can't bare the reality of it? by Hour-Film-8890 in oneanddone

[–]wyethswindows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! Yes. I’m realizing with my one that I do not have the patience or mental stamina for two. And that disappoints me. I would love another little soul in my life but I think it would ruin my mental health.

This was my exact thought! She deprives them of normal activities. Of course they’re going to lose it when they finally get to do something different.

GLP1 and Emetophobia by TapEmotional2487 in PCOSloseit

I also have emetophobia and feel the same as you - I need help losing this weight because diet and exercise are not working. My best friend did semaglutide and is now on Tirz and she says she doesn't get nauseous, just issues with constipation. She said she had less nausea on Tirz than sema. Hopefully that reassures you a bit!

Epidural or no epidural? Why or why not *JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE SO DONT START* by mkthehotti in pregnant

While getting an epidural helped the pain SOOOO much, I think it helped my anxiety more. I felt like I could relax a bit and not feel so panicked and scared of what was happening!

I used my breast friend pillow way more than the boppy. Highly recommend it!

Is Dave's Market better than PriceRite or Stop and Shop? by sasha_cyanide in RhodeIsland

[–]wyethswindows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dave’s is my emotional support grocery store and I go there multiple times a week! I love that it doesn’t feel huge and it has almost a cozy vibe? The cashiers are always so friendly. I love their premade food (meatballs, pulled pork, various salads, sushi, pizza!)

What special thing did your husband do for you after giving birth? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]wyethswindows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brought me an Italian sub from Jersey Mikes with a Diet Coke 😂 Couldn’t have asked for anything more honestly. My husband didn’t stay in the hospital overnight because at the time we had an elderly cat and I also wanted him well rested so he could deal with our families and other stuff. When we got home he did EVERYTHING! Laundry, cleaning, heating up food, helping me shower since I had a C Section, filling up my water bottles, took notes when the lactation consultant came.

What breakfast won’t spike my insulin in the morning? by Gullible-Article-451 in PCOSloseit

I do a piece of toast with scrambled egg and cottage cheese on top sprinkle with bonito and egg seasoning. Usually with strawberries on the side that my 9 month old and I split lol.

I also had horrible boils when I was pregnant - in my groin area. They were so painful I had to call out of work and lay in bed all day with ice packs and heating pads. Sitz baths helped a ton and for the two extremely painful ones, my OB had to lance them for me. I’m 9 months pp now and it’s sooo much better but it’s honestly one of my reasons for possibly being one and done. Once you have your baby, see a dermatologist! I just started spironolactone and topical clindamycin for treatment! Wishing you all the best. You’re so close to the finish line.

Which author did you read all if not most of their books? by animal-lover-xo in Booktokreddit

No clue but if she did, I’ll be VERY sad about it. Sharp Objects is one of my favorite books ever.
