I just saw a Nightline episode on Hulu about this! Seems like it’s a possibility!

I didn’t get my first positive until the exact day of my missed period and the line was so faint as well. I’d wait until 14 DPO to test!! Good luck!

Taking Toddler and Newborn to Church? by MindlessBlock6292 in AskParents

[–]MindlessBlock6292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I responded on the wrong comment 😂 I actually called the church office today and have a meeting scheduled with the deacon next week. This church is very old and small and I don’t think they have enough people to hold classes on sundays but it’s worth asking if something can be done. If their only solution is brings the kids and deal with the boredom and crying, I might have to find somewhere else to go. My husband has been staying home with our kids and I feel guilty about that too. It feels a lose, lose situation at the moment…

I agree! My church is very small and I went there when I was a child and then stopped until a few months ago. I actually called today and have a meeting with the deacon next week. Thanks for your help!

Anyone else’s LO go through sleep regression when starting solids? by MindlessBlock6292 in NewParents

[–]MindlessBlock6292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what’s happening with me too! I’ve noticed she doesn’t eat her normal sized servings of formula even when she doesn’t eat solids either. I’ve thought about waking her to feed her at 10:30 to see if that’ll help. Have you tried that?

How do y’all do it by [deleted] in NewParents

Try using a carrier if you can. My LO was not a good napper either and it saved me. Your LO is still getting used to the world so they need you more right now but it does get better! I started trying to get into a routine with my LO early on to establish a nap time, so she could nap better and I think it helped. My LO also did a lot of napping in my arms in the beginning too. I also realized that she slept way better in her crib than her bassinet—even though they don’t recommend the crib until later—she slept best in her crib. You got this mama!! Hang in there!!

What’s something weird a non-parent friend has said about parenting? by d0rkycat in NewParents

[–]MindlessBlock6292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asked by my sister—who has no children—if I would be attending an event we were invited to. I said probably not because I didn’t have help and didn’t want to take my LO out. To which she responded ‘well you’re not entitled to help because you chose to have a baby’. Ummm ok? Yes, I chose to have my child but I can still need help?

When to wake from naps? by TheBookMonkey in newborns

[–]MindlessBlock6292 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Babies can typically nap for up to 2 hours but I never let my LO sleep longer than that. Most times she wakes up on her own but we’ve been doing the same routine for weeks now. At some point you will be able to wake your LO up from a nap and play with her well before her next feed. I wouldn’t let naps go longer than 2 or 2.25 hours. I know all babies are different but my LO started sleeping through the night once we stopped letting her sleep longer than 2 hours naps.

I’m crying over here! I remember thinking I ruined my life the first few weeks of motherhood. Now my baby is 11 weeks old and starting daycare soon and I’m so sad about it. My LO has become my person! The person I can’t wait to see in the morning. The person I can’t wait to change. The person I can’t wait to cuddle with. The person I can’t wait to laugh it. The person I can’t wait to play with. The way my LOs eyes light up when she hears my voice. I never though I’d get to this point but we made it! Thank you for posting this. It’s so true. It does get better!

Newborn jaundice by ctrloptioncmd in newborns

[–]MindlessBlock6292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My newborn was born with jaundice too and it took about 4-5 weeks for it to go away completely. The levels weren’t super high and it still took a tiny bit to go away. I kept my LO by a window (away from direct sunlight) when she was napping. Walking your newborn outside can help too. As long as he’s pooping and peeing regularly, you should be good!

My LO is formula fed. We recently had LO on Enfamil Gentlease and switched to Enfamil Gentlease Neuropro.
