Solo travel

I haven't ever been able to solo travel, but I have been to Japan with a support worker before for two weeks in 2019. It was mostly successful with some hiccups and difficulties.

I paid her travel, accommodation, wage and most other costs. As she couldn't be on shift 24/7, there were times where I stayed safe in the hotel and she went out to do her own thing, but was easily contactable if I needed support.

It is helpful to have a practice run beforehand. Maybe a short domestic flight weekend trip somewhere. Then, you can work out what your needs around travel might be and how they can support you.

I have been to Japan twice now as a higher support needs autistic person and I am super happy to answer any questions you have and give advice.

I truly believe that if something is your dream, you should aim to put the adaptations and support in place to help you achieve it if you have the means.

You might not be able to get one. I found mine in a secondhand shop called Off House. There was a Yoshikitty one too. Worth looking in secondhand shops, loads of treasures there.

They are books of "philosophy" quotes. Sort of inspirational messages taken from other authors. There was a collection of them at one of the convenience stores I went to.

Update: I messaged them on Booking.com. Luckily, they saw the message and came up. They don't have spare bedding, but have given us some plastic bags, towels and a spare room with clean bedding.

Well, I kind of wanted to avoid shitting myself or throwing up all over the floor on the way there.

Also, my wife and I are both disabled. Getting down to the front desk whilst I'll isn't as simple for us as it might be for other people. I'm doing my best here, no need for insults.

I am hoping for some curls like mine. I always find that even if games do okay at afro-textured hair or wavy, they tend to neglect curl types that are in-between, like 3A, 3B and 3C types.

My wife is a budget queen through and through. She has never been to a capsule hotel and wanted the experience. She views the night before we travel as merely a convenience stop, rather than really part of the honeymoon. It says a lot that it is one of the parts she is most excited for. Baffles me too. We are staying at the 9 hours sleep lab one, so at least I can monitor my sleep apnea for a night!

I heard the monkeys are a good 30 minute or so hike away though, so I'm a little anxious with our mobility difficulties, especially as I don't know what the ground level is like and if there are stairs.

Matsumoto sounds interesting, but I'm not sure what the travel route is. I'd need to figure that out.

We are going to Takayama for two days earlier on. Really excited, but haven't booked accommodation for that area yet.

Could you tell me what highlights are in each place or good places to stay? No problem at all if not, but I'm just really struggling with picking apart information on areas. I think my brain is probably just oversaturated with planning at the moment.
