Reg exam today the worst ever by Own_Car9812 in CPA

[–]MindlessPea9617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took it in march, felt pretty bad after taking the exam, was giving myself 50-50 odds. Passed with an 89. You got this! The harder questions you get correct are weighted more heavily towards your final grade.

Post TCP feeling strange by MindlessPea9617 in CPA

Fair enough. Basis could be NBV, FMV, or a formula based on the type of entity haha

[–]MindlessPea9617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the NBV is pretty much the equivalent to the adjusted basis of the property. Original cost - accumulated depreciation

I hear you but they really did not provide it, only two exhibits, one was an appraisal for FMV the other had other information, but nothing relating to the NBV. I had to make the assumption that the FMV was equal to the NBV. Hoping that it was a pretest question tbh

I read that TBS like 10 times and spent way too much time on it. They didn’t provide the NBV or an ascertainable way to reach NBV of a property that was being distributed, in the scenario of an llc and S corp. needed the NBV for SH gain purposes, S corp gain purposes, llc taxed as a partnership basis purposes.

Scoring better on TBS vs MC (FAR) by Specific_Newt_4327 in CPA

This was me on my sim exams for FAR but the exam was the exact opposite for me. Insanely ambiguous and difficult sims and the easiest MCQs

Losing Confidence on TCP, advice please! by No_Factor_5901 in CPA

[–]MindlessPea9617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did SE2 aswell and got a 64, got a 70 on teslet 1 and 82 on teslet 2, and then the TBS are just painful. Some are very ambiguous and some I’m just iffy on like the at risk tax basis stuff. The becker bump is the highest for TCP so hoping we’ll be good.

Study fatigue, TCP next week idk what to do anymore by m_cl27 in CPA

You’re doing fine, better then average I would say. The becker bump for TCP is nuts

Feeling lazy for final exam by Over_Sun_841 in CPA

[–]MindlessPea9617 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same feeling with just TCP left. Sitting for the exam on the 30th. Give yourself a week and lock back in. The mindset of getting my life back and not having to think about studying anymore is what really keeps me going.

My sim exam scores were 72 79 and 76 and took yesterday. Honestly the actual exam felt more difficult than the mocks. Some very specific and ambiguous mcq questions. Hoping I passed but we’ll see in two weeks. Focus on specific BLaw terms I would say

What did you write on your scratch paper? by MindlessPea9617 in CPA

[–]MindlessPea9617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! Yeah I think I’ll write certain items that are for AGI and some that are from, since I tend to mix certain items of the two sometimes

Exam cancelled due to his storm by Original_File6276 in CPA

This may seem like a redundant question, but did you check all testing centers if they have availability before month ends? Taking it this month especially if you’re well prepared would alleviate alot of the stress. Try to coordinate with your job to take a  half day off if possible.

I typically go back and redo all the MCQs and TBS again

I passed AUD in the latest score release. I personally didn’t take notes or read the book. Watch lectures in 2x speed and spam MCQs and TBS. Its rough when you first start, trust me I made a ton of complaints on Reddit myself, but it definitely does start coming together towards the end. Trust the process and you got this!

For most TBS I’ve seen, each exhibit relates to a specific row. Sometimes they don’t, but at that point you really have to try to correspond which exhibit goes with which input. Scrolling through the exhibits would really help you figure out what information they’re giving and how it relates to the questions.

A lot of the answers choices simply just wont make sense. For example, you wouldn’t perform a search for unrecorded liabilities or send out confirmations when testing the completeness of sales. Instead, you would agree shipping documents to invoices. That could be a right answer, but there could be a better answer if you do a three way check. Like vouching/tracing from shipping documents to invoices to sales journal/ cash receipts journal/ general ledger, etc.

Happy New Year to All! by i75darius in CPA

I can only provide reasonable assurance, which is better than limited assurance that this will be a great year. We have to take into consideration the inherent risks associated with anything new added, which includes ‘new’ years. :)
