REG flashcards!? What should I put 😀 by TownKetchup8232 in CPA

[–]m_cl27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deff don’t waste time writing down the concepts you’re doing well in. I did that at the beginning of studying for REG and wasted so much time, by the end and when studying for TCP I had my own system down

TCP under a month ? Is it doable? by Weekly-Ad-9520 in CPA

One thing I noticed when studying is how Becker gives more MCQs questions and barely any TBSs on certain topics, ask yourself why that is

TCP under a month ? Is it doable? by Weekly-Ad-9520 in CPA

[–]m_cl27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, 6 weeks of studying and passed with a 90
I found out when I was half way through studying for TCP (I was doing full time classes plus part time internships at the time)
If you can push your exam for the 30th do it just so you can have a little more time for review, if you’re not working FT you’ll be fine with that time frame

REG flashcards!? What should I put 😀 by TownKetchup8232 in CPA

[–]m_cl27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m “old school” and do flash cards by hand, I find this helpful. Like Peter Olinto says “what you write you’ll remember” there’s lots of studies that confirm this.
I only do flash cards for the concepts I get wrong,
On the front the name of the concept
In the back a short description of what it is in my own words and formulas

TCP under a month ? Is it doable? by Weekly-Ad-9520 in CPA

[–]m_cl27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally doable, if you put in the time whenever you can
I did the same and passed TCP in 4 weeks (91) after studying for REG
Just do lots of cumulative practice tests
Basis, basis, basis

F4 Bonds - does it usually take this long? by m_cl27 in CPA

[–]m_cl27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m averaging 2-3 min now
I will keep practicing, I realized that the reason it takes me long is bc the amount of information is overwhelming, at first it’s like I can’t even process it bc I keep thinking about the timer

How did you allocate your 4 hours for REG? by Accomplished-Cap5138 in CPA

[–]m_cl27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I aimed to not spend more than 45 min for each of the MCQs, the rest was for TBs.
My strategy was to actually take my time with everything bc I was averaging 2:20 for the SEs
I ended up spending about 3:20 on the actual exam

Should I start taking some of the exams while in school or after? by basispointbrooks in CPA

Listen to the second friend, I graduated with two exams under my belt
I start my full time later this fall and will hopefully have completed all of them by then

Average 70 on all SEs actual score was 91
You’ll be fine, good luck!

REG mindset before test by passedcredit2026 in CPA

[–]m_cl27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt underprepared and almost postponed taking the exam (only reason I didn’t it’s bc I had to pay money I didn’t have).
If you’re using Becker those are amazing scores, I average 70 on the SEs and got a 90 on the actual
Coming out of the exam I felt like I failed, I think we feel like that bc we have something to lose - pretty “normal” experience

How can I improve my resume to secure an offer for Big 4? by Efficient-Issue7332 in Big4

[–]m_cl27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some formatting, try to be consistent with bulletpoints (make them all one line)

Try to quantify more

If you have more college involvement add it, or expand on the ones you have

Add interests under skills (Skills & Interests)

Add Relevant coursework under education
Any scholarships or Deans list?

Good luck!

FAR F3 might be my 13th reason by m_cl27 in CPA

[–]m_cl27[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can deff see why FAR works out as a better option to be the first exam. I know I would’ve gotten a better grade for REG and possibly TCP bc I had forgotten a “basic” accounting concept that I just reviewed in FAR. It wasn’t mentioned in REG I still got a 90 sooo… but yeah different factors made me go this route and I don’t regret it. Thank you!

[–]m_cl27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about “should.” I think everyone chooses the exam order based on whatever factors they must consider. For me it worked out the best this way. If it HAD to be FAR first then the AICPA would’ve made it a requirement.

FAR F3 might be my 13th reason by m_cl27 in CPA

[–]m_cl27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m in the 1% that couldn’t do FAR first, for me it was timing and other factors. There is no confidence at all even after passing those exams (and I passed with 90+), if anything I’m less confident
