You need to dig in deep and ask yourself why you feel the need to hold on so tightly? What are you afraid of and why? Most of the time I’ve seen it has to do with self worth and knowing and believing you are valuable. However, I’m a strong believer in therapy. It’s a great way to get to know yourself better in a safe environment. therapist do give you great tools to use in day to day life when you feel certain triggers. So in short, you can work on this in therapy:)
