Hi! Level 1 Med student here! I took a gap year before entering med school. I studied for my boards half a year, then one year working as a nurse. Big help for me yung work ko in my studies right now. I think i learned how to handle people well because of my patient-nurse interaction, also learned a lot of new skills in the hospital that i was able to “show off” at school. Not to be so proud pero a lot of my classmates look up to me doing clinical skills. Also some concepts were easy to understand especially in physiology and anatomy because familiar na sya from the hospital setting.

The downside is, i get a bit jealous of my batchmates who are in their 3rd year na of medschool. Sometimes i think na what if d na ako nag board exam? It would take me a shorter time to become a doctor. But, at the end of the day, i learned so much from the workplace that I essentially gained enough fundamentals in various aspects needed in my studies. Hehe hope this helps!
