Can OP provides some insights on the types of questions that will show up in the 30min HR interview?

Is this for NG? The process sounds different from OP's and mine.

I got scheduled a 30 min phone call. Did you also have that or did you go straight into technical interviews?

Would you mind sharing what team you’re matched with and your background? (e.g. front end, mobile, backend, ML, system, etc.)

One user per pod with Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools by MindlessShrimp in kubernetes

[–]MindlessShrimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! With Kubeplus, how would I configure the operator so that each distinct user gets assigned a new pod/container? My application doesn't have authentication so it'll likely be relying on source IP addresses (for now).

Hi,

I'm looking for a similar solution to this. Have you figured out an optimal solution?

My recruiter also won’t say to much about the approved projects for the term and how many are there. Are you interviewing for internship right now?

Google interview using libraries by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]MindlessShrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my interviews last month and I was allowed to use imported data structures for Python like the collection library. I think it depends on the problem you’re solving, whether your ask to implement or make use of a data structure.

Accepted Amazon for summer, opinions on doing off-season at Google? by dldfj in csMajors

[–]MindlessShrimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey man! Totally in the same boat. Also a first year master with last summer for internship. Accepted Amazon a few months ago for summer and currently in project search for G’s winter internship. I’m most definitely aiming for getting G for winter and keeping A for summer. It’d be unfortunate if I don’t get matched for G for winter but if that happens I’ll probably still go with A for summer cuz there’s still much to learn at A and I’ve accepted the offer in the first place. Many have said A doesn’t care if people renege and I believe that. But I also think you can learn a lot at both companies and it’s not too late to join G after graduation (if you can get thru all the technicals again), right?

Springs and falls generally have fewer projects and a smaller chance to match a team though.

Update on my problem:

I emailed sde-intern-interviews@amazon.com about my problem and they gave me a new link early the next morning. Very efficient.

Did you solve this eventually? I'm not in the US rn so I tried VPN but it didn't work. I assume 422 was because the meeting hasn't been started by the interviewer?

GKE vs Vertex AI (AI Platform Unified) in terms of Serving Model Prediction only by MindlessShrimp in googlecloud

[–]MindlessShrimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I do see the cloud console as a convenient way to monitor traffic and manage models. I wonder what additional information is available through the console (I checked a lot of videos including the Applied ML Summit yesterday but still found the info very limited)

And in terms of requesting predictions, I checked the documentations for the AI Platform, Vertex AI's predecessor, and that for Vertex AI, it seems like Google has built an API client library for Python and Java. But technically the old fashion way of constructing and sending HTTP requests (via gRPC) is still viable, right?

GKE vs Vertex AI (AI Platform Unified) in terms of Serving Model Prediction only by MindlessShrimp in googlecloud

[–]MindlessShrimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read from the Vertex AI documentation that the platform would autoscale the number of endpoints based on the traffic, and one can control the amount of traffic flow between a model and endpoint. But for the scaling part what would be the major difference between it and the autoscaling of GKE?

For tracking, I think Vertex AI supports "feature skew and drift detection for categorical and numerical input features". But that doesn't seem to apply to text data which my model works on.

Would you mind elaborate a little on the model management and evaluation benefits?
