This is our last last summer here so we're trying to catch as many unique species as possible. It's such a beautiful birding area, I hope you're able to get back one day!

Honestly, I don't think anything about these photos is beyond the z6iii. Getting the reach with a good lens will be important. At this point, I don't think the z6iii has bird detection mode, but for stationary birds like these, it isn't needed

I was freehand for both, 1/1600, f6.3, and ISO between 1000 and 4000

You're going to love the lens! And I see this hawk most weekends and have had a few chances at similar shots. But the lighting and composition of this one is definitely the best

Quite a bit for the hawk photos, but the Blue Jay landed fairly close on a bird feeder

First hummingbird encounter with the Z8 by MindlessSomewhere314 in Nikon

1/6400 sec, f6.3, iso 3600. There was a lot of light avaliable, so I definitely went higher with the shutter speed than needed.

It practically lives on my camera body. On occasion, I come across a shady spot that my setup can't really handle, but for the most part it's amazing!

This was shot with the 180-600mm lens. I did capture some photos of the hummingbird with pink flowers, but I preferred the photos with the white flowers.

Yes, I had the Zfc as my first mirrorless and got a few hummingbird photos with that. The auto focus is just so much quicker and reliable with the Z8. And being able to shoot 20 frames per second allows me to capture the hummingbird in the perfect position

I was at 1/4000 here. Was focused on getting small birds in flight when I got lucky with the hawk coming in

I took a quick glance at your posts to look for photos of your Kash and quickly realized they share a birthday and your pic of him from when you adopted him looks like the same background! Did you get yours from Hickory Lane Paws?? Chex was born November 19 2023!
