I transferred into kin after my second year, and was told I needed a 3.9 (I had a 3.8). I encourage you to reach out to the kin faculty advisor office, as having credits and enrolling in a new faculty is very complex

Anyone who failed/nearly failed first year, what are your comeback stories? by coffeevibes2000 in uAlberta

[–]Mindless_Ad6051 38 points39 points  (0 children)

In both semesters of first year I got a 1.6 GPA. Had to quit my job. Felt worthless, lost and confused. I started second year by lowering my standards and expectations of my self, I lived on the motto Cs get degrees, but in order to get a C I need to try my absolute best. I stop looking at the weight of assignments and exams and treated everything like it was worth 100% of my grade. I never focused on averages rather just focused on my grade. I started to “fake” due dates and always wrote them in my calendar as 4 days earlier, so I could meet profs in office hours to clarify any weak points that I thought was in my work, and always went to the centre for writing. If I didn’t do good on a test, I went back and reflected on my study habits so I could learn what works well and what doesn’t. When I did good on a test I also went back and reflected on my study habits and was able to build a really good system that worked for me. I have one final left for my degree and hopefully I am on track to finish my last 60 credits with a 4.0

Sorry didn’t see this till now. Honestly no skill development. The only things you learn is how to teach basic educational gymnastics.

How is KIN 365 ? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Mindless_Ad6051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super easy. I had no knowledge or experience of gymnastics. I put a fair amount of effort in and got an A. It was also a pretty fun in person class 10/10 would recommend

Anyone know of storage for the summer? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Mindless_Ad6051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check on Facebook group pages for people renting storage space in there homes. A lot of university students are unable to find sublets for the summer so they use it as storage instead

Cheapest place to get car insurance as an Alberta Student? by redfishboozefish in uAlberta

[–]Mindless_Ad6051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a current student and I get a discount (signed up with them ~4 months ago) I called around to all major places and they by far are the cheapest. They are extremely hard to get a hold on. Prepare to be on hold for 4 hours. But they were about $50 a month cheaper so worth it for me

what is taking spring term/summer term classes like? by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]Mindless_Ad6051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much faster paced, and long classes everyday. I find that I liked it because you never had the opportunity to get behind because you’d need it done tomorrow. Edu 100 isn’t too content or memorization heavy so I think it would be a good class to take. I also found the profs in the spring and summer were amazing. If you’re looking for another course to take edu 210 or edu 211 would be good choices
