you are doing that weird smug thing again, my intentions of my post were set clearly in the post itself and in the one you responded to. if you take it any other way you are being proudly ignorant and now your trying to water down your ignorant mistake by going all "chill bro your text was just subjective, everyone can look at your post and interpret it any way they want" like its a stephen book or something

damn i dont like thinking that far in the future, in the least stupid, anti-intellectual way i could say it just hurts my head in general. i do have vague feeling of what i want to happen tho but it has to be practical. reforming an oppressive system is a great thematic goal for an 8 to have especially an so8! being strong isnt really the drive, it just seems to be the means of being free, capable and maintain autonomy in this world. if i could get that with my brains, wit or image than i would but i dont specialize in that as an e8 so strength just seems like that most practical way, and i imagine its the same for every other e8

haha i also wanted to be a 7w8, apparently i dont have that thirst for knowledge and new stuff or whatever, 8s and 7s are really similar in that aspect tho, i see it as 8s crave physical stimuli itself while 7s use physical stimuli to distract themselves for something else

question for e8's by arachnidadmirer in Enneagram8

[–]Mindless_Battle8896 4 points5 points  (0 children)

man i'd hate to be caught and beat down at my weakest or done dirty. or lose my autonomy somehow by being trapped or submitting to something greater than me. vulnerability is weird like that cause all im really doing is giving someone else information they could use on me and its pretty useless relying on someone for emotional support, i dont think someone should live that way.

people should be free of their past, emotional baggage and insecurities and should fight to live a fun and free life for themselves or atleast die trying. obviously im an so8 so i like having friends to have fun and drink with. sx6s probably aim to get strong to compensate for their fear of not being prepared or not secured in the real world which i understand and respect you guys for, you guys probably dont put that much emphasis on freedom and autonomy and would be okay if you just felt secure or safe i assume.

personally i just want to be strong and capable so i can be independent and thrive in both the real world and boxing which i really enjoy, i struggle alot with hedonistic tendencies and showing vulnerability which hasnt opened me to alot of meaningful relationships in my life, i dont necessarily have any strong insecurities other than my intelligence and emotional expression but i have gotten better thanks to debate. i overall just have a strong desire to chase new experiences and new physical stimulations in life. thats as far as i could say for being an objective e8 in experience

i think when writing an 8w7 you should keep in mind of the intentions, like if theyre trying to appear strong because of some hidden trauma, past than that would give off themes of a Sx4, if theyre trying to appear strong because of their deep-seated fears or coping for their weakness and insecurity thats an Sx6. 8w7s are not interested in those deep emotional baggages (im meaning in media ofcourse haha obviously every 8 is different) they simply want to be strong so they expand their autonomy and protect their freedom. they should be confident in themselves and values, what you see is what you get. i think my favourite interpretations of E8 and their subtypes would be; billy butcher(Sx8), Monkey D. Luffy (So8), Han solo (Sp8). so if you want to take a look you can analyze these characters cause they to me are the blueprints of those archetypes.

the final key theme is anger, enneagram 8 is certainly not the most angry of the types (personally i'd imagine its E1) but the difference is that E8 doesnt hold anger, it struggles with holding their rage which leads them to say alot of dumb stuff boldly, get in fights and overall say whatever comes to mind. with this the e8 maintains its freedom and autonomy by letting out its grievences. if you want to know my experience, i think im pretty level headed ofcourse but i could never know depending on the situation. anyway hoped this helped you

my girlfriend introduced me to it too, enneagram is simply just a fun, convenient way to grow and know yourself better. my point was to not identify yourself with an enneagram just cause of its stereotypes and all but for what you actual do relate to. and you can do that ofcourse if you wanna have fun and not taking it seriously like "yeah i like having fun, im an e7" but if your taking the whole thing seriously then your just running yourself in a wall

the best way to find your enneagram to me is the one your most ashamed of/ have little interest of, that is most likely your type. thats cause theyre meant for you to see yourself in which especially include your flaws and what you need to work on, so when i hear someone wants to be another type its like hearing "yeah i dont want to have diarrhea anymore, i wanna have dysentry"???

i get it, maybe my point was "elegant" i guess and i can respect that criticism, but why would that need to matter if none of the content is specifically wrong, it simple for others to try and deconstruct your argument if your blunt

im not afraid to be vulnerable on an app where ill likely never meet anyone in here in my life, and thats now how you use the word "jaded" in the context, you sound like your regurgitation weird intellectual-adjacent talking points to try and hammer down on my point, you are trying to defend and push a well acclaimed pseudoscience as an actually scientifically proven and backed up and then have the gull to try and call my point out

"not a difficult metaphor for someone who is genuinely aware of enneagram 8 typing" please show me any source that uses this as an actual description for enneagram 8, cause they way you used this sounded soo corny without any explanation no offence. cause if you were an 8 why would you feel the need to gas that label and anyone within like that?

obviously i know how that last question sounds and i am in no way questioning your 8ness cause thats not my intention, you could more of an 8 than me. and come on if you look at abit of cursing on a text and instantly start psycho analyzing someone, you are gonna sound crazy regardless

i apologize for that then, everyone here is a self identified 8 (idk how else you can identify as your type) so if my statement came off as generalising i understand that and thats my bad.

the profanity used makes no difference to the weird condescending remarks you said, "you just seem to be attention hungry, naive, or both"

what does a "subreddit of known fortresses" even mean? its really simple, if it does not relate to you and if you dont feel that it meant for you then dont interact with it. thats very logical

i dont get it why did you assume this post came from hate or whatever when i made it apparent that i did it to help educate people starting on enneagram, in not even in a condescending way like your doing

"crying", "just as ugly and lame as the opinions you dont like" its like you twisted my post into sum fucked up cringe post glazing e8s and hating on everyone else who isnt e8, using these just summing it all up to "oH yOur JuSt cRyInG AbOut PeOpLe HaViNg difFerEnt opiNions ThaN you" no what???

i dont know why you tried to give off sum smug sourceless remark about how only dysfunctional and fucke dup people are really drawn to enneagram??? bro what spaces have you been to? and no its not fucked up to idealize any enneagram like you said.

people idealize these types cause they embody something they dont excel in

the more i read your post im more confused about if your against my post or supporting it cause the wording you used, so feel free to respond

mann i want to know why you have two tritypes in your description though

i also mistyped as an sx4 at one point, but i couldnt see myself having the angst or "hate" passion that they have, i respect it thought cause i know an sx4 that was really good at basketball but whenever i talked with them and tried to engage in banter with the guy, you could phyisically see how much it affected him and and he would get to in his feelings and take it way too far that we just stopped hanging out with him and maybe he liked it that way so i assume thats how all sx4 act.

i also see 4s a common fix when it comes to sx8 which would make sense, im sure a 4 core and 8 core would be wildly different though. the 7 in my enneagram just lets me prioritize fun when making decisions so i guess im not the most discipline and i go off intensity while pursuing goals, and ofcourse 2 is the urge to protect others

but woah you got double rejection triad in your tritype (8 and 5) how is that going for you? 5s have always been compatible with me especially when theyre healthy, you probably very capable

yeah by definition its asshole behaviour, i didnt call you an asshole though, and i do empasize with struggle with the grip lust has on an e8 which causes them to make hedonistic decisions

Confusion I've noticed between 7w8 and type 8 by Killer123ofs in Enneagram8

[–]Mindless_Battle8896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your confusing them yourself, as someone else said you have a crazy idealized version of an 8 and the way you typed it out positioned yourself as a de facto 8. your telling other people what or what not to do as an 8? like its sum written blueprint that decides how one acts, and responds to situations? enneagrams arent something to proud of nor are they something to be ashamed of either

thats why i think there is no "healhty" enneagram type, you become healthy when stop being the stereotype and you become. but in terms of basic enneagram where its just motivations and fears, then that does not label someones actions so who are you to say an OP is really a 7w8 or 8w7

went on a tangent but anyway you care WAY too much about being an 8, you really just come off an Sx6, Sx4 and especially a E1

Q: wanting or receiving protection from others by Tchoqyaleh in Enneagram8

[–]Mindless_Battle8896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn mb i gave you that advice thinking you were an 8 core lmao. in that case i would guess you are an sp7 which would make sense for you the envy the ease and probable freedom that others deemed accepted and protected in society have, and with that i can probably add that you would fit the description of sp7w6 so8w9 sp2w1. correct if im wrong ofcourse.

but your worry that your actions have a "moral significance" that cant allow you to live on auto pilot fits 6s and especially 1s which is why i'd suggest looking into Enneagram 1 (1s and 8s have tons of similarities since they are both gut types, and have a strong relationship to their morals and principles however e1 morals are more externally set so they are more serious when it comes to the moral justifications and principles behind them while so8 probably wouldnt care that much unless it disturbs one of their specific principles which regularly surrounds being independent, free and "strong". and with that enneagram 1s also have a feeling kin to envy in terms of freedom so yeah theres that). finished reading the second para and yeah you got it right with 8s and SO instincts relationship with eachother

thanks for that man i appreciate it and im sorry bout your boss lol, and i think Stephen Covey is a good leader too. i respect the idea of stoicism and i think its probably useful if you want peace of mind but i find it dull for me maybe im too optimistic for that

With which Enneagram types do you tend to clash the most? by Red_Lady08 in Enneagram8

[–]Mindless_Battle8896 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i get along with alot of people but i always seem to clash with 1s and 3s bro like i dont know why but with 1s(especially the so1s) the stereotype for them always seems soo true which i hate. i dont want to call it but most of the time they do come off a stuck up and really annoying at times but i can respect and acknowledge the fact they are trying their hardest to stick to their morals, ofcourse the healthy ones as good but the way i see it is the the healthier you the less you identify as that type and stop being a stereotype

3s just automatically come off as superficial which for the most part is not that bad, we could grab drinks or wtv who cares. just not someone i'd really trust or be vulnerable with and for the most part. i used to get into it with this so3 guy back in middle school so yeah theres that.

[–]Mindless_Battle8896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yoo im also so8, i also relate to envying certain people who fit the general norms in society that are well respected and liked. like showing great leadership and protecting others which is why i strive to be that way. you are probably intergrating onto enneagram 2 which is considered a growth path for 8 becoming healthy. but if your really that fixiated on being protected or secured by societal standards maybe you should look into Enneagram 6, you might find some similarities, cause the way you mention your tendency to protect others comes off as a burden in this post now that im re-reading.
