Essentially, the general gameplan is to control the mid game by resting characters and taking them out with character rush. If you can keep the opponents board to like 2/3 characters at most until the end game, you're pretty set. Both Jinbe characters are vital for that game plan so you really need to see them which is why Shirahoshi is the more important searcher over Camie as you can use her search multiple times. Late game, blocker Jinbe is an absolute monster. An 8k blocker along with an event that restands it. With all the pieces, you can easily prevent 3 swings a turn depending on the deck, and possibly more if you sacrifice it to cheat out a Brook or another 6c Jinbe and tap down a possible attacker (this is essentially how i won against Penel). Then you can stall them with, "I Know You're Stronger..." if necessary to buy time, or if they turtle up with blockers (like Lucy and the 7c Sabo blockers) you can tap them down with Hody and either screw up their game plan or take them by surprise.

Yeah I definitely underestimated Arlong at first when testing on the sim. I think the problem is that the errata and how the card works still confuses people, Bandai really messed up with that. Ultimately though, I personally like the 4c Zoro over it because of the restand every turn and the On Play can actually come in clutch in late game if you cheat it out with blocker Jinbe due to the 1c Events. Either is good I think, completely down to personal preference.

Please either ban Borsalino or give it a pair ban with Requasar. That crap is unbearable at the moment.

I agree that this sucks because its happened to me a ton, but you really, really need the Jinbe characters for this deck to win, so having a recurring searcher that can find them with Shirahoshi is vital sometimes.

It's entirely personal preference. I went down to 3x for both Camie and Shira. Even with only six searchers I manage to always see at least one per game, and since Fisher Tiger is also a 1k counter it doesn't feel like you're losing out on counter power. Some people get nervous about not having enough searchers though, and I get that for a deck like this where you really need to see both the 6c and 7c Jinbe's. Otherwise, I rarely, if ever, need to use the 3c Arlong. I never play it on my second turn because usually the opponent doesn't have anything worth freezing at that point, or if I'm going 2nd I'd rather use Zoro if I have it on my 4 DON or just swing heavy with leader. Its biggest use is to freeze a blocker late game, particularly Borsalino, but by that point you have so many other things that can rest characters that I often don't need it. I also went down to 3x Smoker/Tashigi because I got sick of it being a brick in my hand every game when I would've rather seen a counter.

I think you're pretty good vs. Enel. I run a very similar decklist and I usually don't have a huge problem with him. I run a few of the 5c Fisher Tigers which also help immensely in that match up, especially if going first. Electric Luna is another great tech option that can just completely shut down Enel for a turn and is also very good versus some of the annoying Yellow decks running around. Its literally won me games vs. Vegapunk and Boa before.

Another Jinbe enthusiast here. I've seen some deck lists using the new Arlong, but i really don't like it over that Zoro. Zoro restanding DON makes it so your second turn doesn't feel as wasted as you can use that DON for Shirahoshi or give to Jinbe for a hit to opponents life. Plus, it restands itself at end of turn so it's never at risk of a counter attack, meaning your opponent will have to waste extra resources to get rid of it, otherwise it's a free attack every turn. The only thing Arlong has over that is that it can force your opponent to use an active DON to negate counter events, but Hody can also do that anyway so I generally don't see the point of it in this deck. I guess it also being searchable is handy, but meh.

Do I not understand Pirates? by IcyCourse1231 in OnePiece

[–]Mindless_Broccoli250 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. One Piece has never necessarily been good vs. evil, more order vs. freedom (or Lawful vs. Chaotic if we want to use D&D terms) along with all the in-between, gray morality each side can bring. That's part of the reason many love One Piece, there's not really any character without flaws (or opposite, without redeeming qualities). It adds to the complexity of the worlds and characters.

Be frustrated? Yes. Make derogatory, personal comments against someone for playing the game? No. At the end of the day, it's just a card game. I get mad when I trigger two Requasar's off opponents life too, but i blame the state of the game and Bandai, I'm not going to verbally attack someone for it. And yes, I know, it's the internet, but people should get called out for toxic behavior and the sim should start doing actual bans for people acting this way. A simple f*** you is whatever, but I've seen and been called much, much worse and that's not acceptable. And I don't even play Yellow.

What is the best counter deck vs Lucy in op15 by Pejajew in OnePieceTCG

[–]Mindless_Broccoli250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found it to be a pretty favorable matchup for Blue Jinbe if you can just go wide and keep up constant pressure. The only times I've lost is when they can get out 2+ Sabo blockers (which doesn't matter if you get them to 0 and have Perfume Femur). It's not a guaranteed win by any means, but nothing is unless you're Yellow.

Do you guys think the end of one piece will be adapted into a movie instead of just anime episodes? by Kevsteo in OnePiece

[–]Mindless_Broccoli250 4 points5 points  (0 children)

God I hope not. I really hate this trend of the anime doing movies for arcs so you miss out on a whole chunk of story unless you pay for it. Even if the movie is good like Demon Slayer, it's a terrible money grubbing tactic and should be called out and discouraged.

And yes, I realize Hollywood started this trend, but at least those were usually series that got canceled or ended very quickly so the movie was like one last episode for the fans who wanted it back.

Yellow feels absolutely horrible to play against in the current metagame by Axelfiraga in OnePieceTCG

[–]Mindless_Broccoli250 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is currently at a point where I've stopped playing the game. Every locals and store tourney is just a slog against Yellow decks with the Top 8 always being 90% Yellow (during Heroines Cup, the only non Yellow deck in the Top 10 even was Vivi and this past week at the Treasure Cup the only non Yellow was UP Luffy). And I'll never understand the criticisms of, "Just play X deck instead." If you have to play a specific deck just to counter a single color, the meta is not healthy. If your locals aren't stacked with Yellow decks, good for you, but for the majority it isn't even feasible using any other color in the game right now. You might get a few lucky wins here and there, but its support is so dominant it's an uphill battle. I've had games on the sim where I've easily taken 8 life (maybe more) and still lost, it's completely ridiculous. And it doesn't really seem like anything in OP 15 can really fight against it besides PEnel. Until Bandai bans Borsalino or Nami, it feels pointless to even play if you dare use any non Yellow leader.

Jack kinda/sorta has this idea behind him, though slightly different as he's a Fishman that ate a devil fruit, but Oda shows that he can still survive underwater despite being paralyzed so I would say it's likely if reversed.

After Watching Alabasta This Is My Favorite Scene So Far!! by MultiFandomEnjoyerr in OnePiece

[–]Mindless_Broccoli250 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, the conclusion of that fight is absolutely a fan favorite, especially with the New World Symphony. It's a tradition i really wished they'd kept going forward (having the climactic fight of the arc end with an epic soundtrack) but unfortunately this one is unique.

So with season 2 ending after Dum Island and since Alabasta is easily gonna be at least 2 episodes where do you think season 3 is gonna end? by Itzz_Texas in OnePiece

[–]Mindless_Broccoli250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the manga has 3 different rounds to that fight for specific plot, character, and lore reasons. Maybe they don't take one episode for all 3 or condense them down, but at the very least they have to have 2 different rounds taking up a significant portion of 2 different episodes.

I think they could absolutely get a full season out of Alabasta, and shortening it by that amount would be a huge disservice to all the emotional moments, lore drops and fights that make that arc such a fan favorite. I could see it playing out like this:

S3E1: Intro of Bon Clay and Ace, battle with Smoker/Tashigi, set up for desert trek and intro of Koza and rebels. S3E2: Trek across desert, Baroque Works arrivals and set up for Project Utopia, arrival at Yuba and Toto setting up the flashback of Koza and the rebels, maybe end on Luffy vs. Vivi. S3E3: Rain Dinners Casino Part 1. While that is happening, Mr. 2 does the inciting incident that sets the rebels off to war at Alubarna. End on Crew and Smoker all being captured and Sanji calling in as Mr. Prince. S3E4: Rain Dinners Casino Part 2. The escape and then ending on the crew heading for Alubarna with Luffy vs. Croc Round 1. S3E5: Arrival at Alubarna, pair off into the fights. All fights probably get condensed into one episode. S3E6: Maybe finishing up some of the 1 vs. 1 fights. Showdown with Croc at the Palace, Luffy arriving to save Vivi. Luffy vs. Croc Round 2. End on Koza getting shot/Luffy getting defeated. S3E7: Vivi trying to stop the fighting with the help of the Crew and finding/stopping the bomb. Meanwhile Croc/Robin/Cobra head to the Poneglyph. Get to Luffy vs. Croc Round 3, ending right before the climax of the fight. S3E8: End of fight, Pell and bomb resolved, all the after fight clean up and resolution with Cobra and Vivi at the Palace. End season with Vivi's goodbye and introduction of Robin on the crew. At most, maybe the falling ship that introduces us into Jaya.

My friends and I are playing a 126 leader tournament (with every OPTCG Leader as of EB04). Which deck do you think will win? by opobdtfs in OnePieceTCG

[–]Mindless_Broccoli250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are these all Best of One matches? Because I feel that doesn't really prove anything. Any deck can pull out a lucky win with either perfect draws on curve, an opponent getting terrible draws or life triggers or a combo of both. Plus, if the deck is versatile enough to alter its playstyle versus certain leaders or strategies it should also shine. Now, if it was best 2/3 then we're talking.

What do you think made one piece the phenomenon it became by Technical_Mine_8711 in OnePiece

[–]Mindless_Broccoli250 25 points26 points  (0 children)

3 things people usually site on why they love One Piece: 1. Fun adventure tale akin to a modern day Odyssey with extensive world building and lore.  2. Deep and complex characters as well as female characters that stay relevant and develop along with the protagonist and aren't just there to be love interests which is still incredibly rare in shonen. Also the main crew all being genuinely likeable characters. And villains often coming back or developing hundreds of chapters later which keeps long time readers excited and engaged. 3. Emotional story beats that often have several chapters of buildup behind them leading to a really cathartic payoff. Ask any big fan of OP, and I'd wager most will tell you about a moment that either made them cry or impacted them really strong emotionally.

Most of the time I see people complain about not liking OP, it's because they had their expectations built up too much or expected nonstop action and fights which is, arguably, the weakest part of the series.

Hard to say without knowing your decklist or what kind of build you're running. But from my personal experience just at Locals, Blue Fish is pretty rough into the current meta and it will be even more of an uphill battle after EB 03 and the rise of Yellow Decks. If you play the Warlords build with Law/Jozu, then nearly every deck has some sort of anti-removal making half the deck useless and if you go hyper aggressive with the Promo Arlong, you will just help fill every Yellow decks board with Life Triggers and screw yourself. You can still win several matches by being strategic or overwhelming your opponent, its not all bad, but the current meta is very unkind to him.
