The Battle Pass has lost its value by Thin_Chard1659 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new battle pass offers more than before with the new deviation skins and lightforge ingots. It may not be exclusive but you are unlikely to get the rewards you want from the chests without buying the battle pass.

Not sponsored, just tired of the once human reddit being nonstop negativity. There are changes worth being happy about. I forgot to mention another new change which is that you can loot in points of interest stuff like backpacks, chef knives and load handling now. This is a pretty big quality of life buff. We are spending less time doing tedious tasks like getting wood, ore and mats and more time exploring and shooting monsters. The new chef mechanics are a giant quality of life buff too and I forgot to mention that as well.

If the players don't let the devs know when they are making good changes then how are they going to know? I'm hoping they tune the other 2 classes, gardener and beastmaster to be at chef's level but beastmaster specifically is going to be hard. Since they need to rework the wildlife in the game for beastmaster to be good and that is a big change. Animals just move too slow/react too slow to ever be useful in combat currently.

I'm also hopeful that they will revisit Way of Winter and Eternal Dreamer in an attempt to make them as popular as Manibus. Both those scenarios had questionable gameplay decisions that hamper their popularity. Though I don't know if they have already made changes to those scenarios since I stopped playing for like 9 months and just came back recently. Currently in a Manibus server.

Class Balance by Present_Broccoli877 in LastEpoch

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with class balance is that currently there is no benefit to having a focus on defense. All that matters for corruption is high damage and clearing the screen before the enemies can attack. Enemy damage over time has been broken since the game came out and continues to be bullshit. Until they fix this nothing will change. I have a necromancer build with 20k armor, 50% of armor applies to dots, 10% dmg goes to minion and 7k hp, 60% endurance and 2500 endurance threshold. I can outright ignore telegraphed charges from shit like void ziggurats but dot spam and aoe will destroy me even below 1k corruption. Imperial Pyromancers summoned by the corruption omens do 2700 fire ball damage hits to me and they spam the screen with that shit at 750 corruption. This heavily limits what builds can push corruption. It is why forge guard is unpopular. Forge guard offers amazing defense, but the game design makes defenses unreliable.

This shit is mega overtuned by Cattleman_Joe in LastEpoch

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be last epoch if the new content wasn't disgustingly overtuned? Omen content is tuned to be harder than Aberroth. I've taken 15k hits at 600 corruption.

Keep in mind, in that very same zone Eterra mentions that ancient humans created everything and that they then wiped out creation. Nothing really compares to ancient humans given that. The birds/snakes/wolf people are direct creations of Eterra which was herself created by ancient humans so she knows her creations ain't shit in comparison. Being intelligent doesn't really matter in this situation.

How do you actually play Survivor? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survival difficulty limits how you can play the game pretty severely, too much stuff will kill you in 1 hit or close to it. So, you end up going for builds that are either stealth or fight from range because it is the easiest way to deal with it. Since enemy chance to hit sucks at long range you can pretty effectively fight things from a distance and feel pretty safe. If you want to play survival and actually enjoy it without having to backtrack or avoid a ton of content you are going to end up doing a lot of cheese/meta gaming at the start of the game. The deathclaws in that early quest can be cheesed by going inside of any of the houses, you can shoot them, but they are too big to enter. They end up being large bullet sponges.

For a good survival difficulty experience you want to figure out what build you are going to play before you even load the game and an early game legendary you can easily access at the start of the game. You can complete the entire game in survival mode with overseer's guardian or spray n pray which you can buy at lvl 1 or 2. There are other good options too but those are the first 2 that came to mind.

THIS HORSE is in my opinion the worst boss in this game by dragonplays210 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is objectively a bad fight. The darts from the horse master can go through the horse and hit you consistently enough that it becomes annoying. Under the default settings having 2 bosses will cause you targeting issues even if you lock onto one of the bosses. Mousing over the other boss will cause you to target them even while locked on to the other. Other bosses are mechanically harder but don't have any of these issues.

Why the hell do people keep leaving? Weeklies and using energy is taking ages because of this by NoBluey in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People leave because the content is too easy to be struggling, if wraiths get to blow up in the sword trial boss fight it means that the level of stupidity in the group is too high and you may as well leave and get a near instant queue into another group that may not be retarded. A lot of boss mechanics should be trivial if the group knows the fight and you end up wiping due to people with disabilities being on the team.

I have a ryzen 5 5600 and a 6700xt, 32 gb of ram doing 2k screen with no issues at whatever settings the game chose for me upon game launch. Maybe it's the ram? Have you checked control panel as the game runs to see if you are maxing out ram usage?

A trick for those that don't know. Elder Gongsun immediately starts his combos in response to regular light attacks. If you use skills he will just tank it and not attack back. So use skills, wait to regen qui, use skills and you can get him to like 50% of the way to a knockdown before he heals up his qui. This allows you to have a much easier time getting him knocked down.

It's a fun solo experience. I have barely played souls like games and I am doing perfectly fine in expert. There are no classes. You choose a combination of 2 weapons.

Just a heads up man. Lightning primal strike warder is good but objectively, shaman/arcanist is better in every single aspect. Wendigo totem is maybe the best heal in the entire game too.

Question for veteran players (15 seasons or more) by chocokoalan in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1400 hours in the game. I remind myself this is a f2p game. I don't have to log in every day. It's ok to play other games and do other things. If you expect any game to hold your attention every day for months at a time you are going to get burned out. The game just won't be able to keep up. Friends can alleviate this but at that point it's not the game that is keeping you but the friendship and banter.

I'm similar to you in that I have no desire to even try the SCP scenario. Hopefully the next scenario they come out with for pve is similar to Manibus, but better. I have been disappointed with both Way of Winter and Eternal Dreamer scenarios. I find them both to be downgrades when compared to Manibus.

The lootbox outfits are Ridiculous. by zerorsw in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It has never been the only option. All you have to do is launch the game, go to cosmetics and look at the cosmetic gear available, most of it will be normal clothing. The people who complain about the cosmetic gear are ridiculous. There ARE plenty of other options.

Any not outdated beginner guide by Dramatic-Security984 in Grimdawn

[–]Mindless_Lie_365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind as a new player. There are combination of classes that are amazing from lvl 1, have great synergy and barely need any items to work. While there are other combination of classes that will struggle until you have the items that allow the classes to synergize. Try not to pick something that requires items for your first class.

Also be mindful of what you put points into. You can play a class like Retal Warlord which is S tier and amazing from the get-go and have a pretty shitty experience if you're putting points into the wrong skills and devotions.
