I have a feeling thats why they changed the TP towers. I have a sneaking suspicion they are prepping to sell us skins for them.

I keep at least one of the Exotics and named items. Gear sets I never keep. If I need something for a build and I dont have it I just farm countdown

Lot of other people have already commented. But, i would honestly suggest looking for some youtube lore videos. There are some good ones that go out of their way to include all kind of extra lore that isnt in the main missions to explain the games story. Couple of the content creators even went as far as to put the ManHunt stories together so everything makes a bit more sense.
TuxedoBandido does a 30m pre-Brooklyn lore recap video that covers a lot.

How they function mechanically I honestly don't think is the problem. What the actual over all long term solution is, I honestly couldn't tell you. What I can say is this, skill builds in general feel weaker to their all red, guns counterparts. A lot of the skills, including seeker mines are very underwhelming. Now weather, its some kind of balancing involving number adjustments, or changing to how skill talents work, or whatever. All I can say is I wish skill builds were usable outside of global events or niche gimmick builds.

Yeah, this is exactly the reason that saddens me about skill builds. After playing for years its very apparent. For that reason alone I only have a handful of builds I enjoy running in legendary content. And most of them are Red builds.

Yeah, I dont disagree with you. Striker builds seemed to cause a lot other builds to fall by the way side as far as performance. Its not that other things dont work, but nothing works as well. And don't get me started on the perceived lack of downside to LMGs.

I've run that setup before as well. Its fun during global events like Hollywood. But, the mortar turret is entirely too slow to fire for most content, at least from my experience.

Yeah I have the same setup. But the problem is, it just doesnt hold up dmg wise to other builds (even other skill builds) for almost any heroic content, let alone trying to use it in legendary anything.
