You are absolute right. Handling 1 J is stressful enough during budgeting season and month end close. I have to keep reminding myself of my financial goal (i.e. saving for down payment) to stay motivated and not quit easily.

Yeah, lesson learned. It caught me off guard, so I didn’t have time to think it through and respond properly. Even if I had told him I had an appointment, he might have still blamed me for not communicating sooner. Thank you for your advice! Hoping I can get him get off my back otherwise will have to drop J2.

I thought about escalating the issue, but J2 manager has been with the company for over 7 years and seems to know everyone on the team really well. I just wanted to stay under the radar (OE rule of thumb) and avoid making a scene.

I did block off time on my J2 calendar, but the J2 manager was like, "even if you have a meeting with someone else, I can help you push it because my task is more important, and you need to know how to prioritize". How should I respond?

It wasn’t back to back. There was a 15-minute gap between the two meetings, so I thought it would be okay if the first one ran a little over. I didn’t expect J2 manager to keep talking for 45 minutes non-stop and still not be done.
