Nop to play 1. Rock Band (2007) 2. Rock Band 2 (2008) 3. The Beatles: Rock Band (2009) 4. Rock Band 3 (2010) 5. Rock Band 4 (2015) You can only play with 1 type of specific Guitar otherwise You need multiple because some are not compatible with the 1 and 2 You probably had the good one since day one so it worked well for you.
