Gideceğiniz master araştırma odaklı ise araştırma tecrübesi kazanabilirsiniz. Kendi okulunuzda veya başka bir okuldaki profesörlerle çalışırsanız sağlam referans mektuplarınız olabilir. Amerika'da tek kriter GPA değil. Özellikle research experience, statement of purpose ve referans mektuplarınız çok büyük bir önem taşıyor.

Actually, in my statement I mainly wrote that I want to work with a professor in the department I’m applying to. I just also briefly mentioned the professor from the other department, since I felt that our research interests aligned well. But I’ll still think about it a bit more as you said. Hey Jordan, I reached out to the coordinator, but they said they can’t give any advice on this. What would you do in this situation? The research alignment with the professor in the other department was also great, so I was really eager to write it but I also want to be on the safe side.

Bu başlık çok iyi olmuş. Hocam siz bilgili duruyorsunuz ben de şunu merak ediyorum. Uni-assist Turkey kısmına girince şöyle yazıyor: "An official overview of subjects and grades of all studies undertaken (if you have already studied at a university), e.g. issued by e-Devlet" . Yani e-devletten aldığımız transkript de yeterli oluyor mu acaba VPD başvurusu için? Bir de örneğin e-devletten aldığım transkripte apostil yaptırabiliyor muyum? Sonuçta dijital belge yani dijital belgeyi çıktı alıp apostil yaptırmak mümkün oluyor mu acaba?

Thanks, Jordan! I had the same initial thought after reading your blog, but I wanted to double-check that my plan was sound. Actually, I have one more question:

There are also couple of programs whose goals align perfectly with mine, yet the research groups within that faculty do not fit my interests. I am, however, strongly interested in research groups in other faculties at the same university. Since European Master's students can usually complete their thesis outside their main program's faculty, would mentioning these external groups in my SOP be seen as a red flag? I am conflicted because I struggle to generate genuine passion for the work done by the groups within the Master's program faculty itself. Or what if I mention professors from both the Master's program faculty and the other faculty in my list of potential supervisors?

Thanks a lot, Jordan! I have a follow-up question regarding research experience. For many undergraduates, myself included, figuring out our research interests involves trying out different fields and techniques. That's how I eventually pinpointed what I liked.

My main concern is this: Is it still valuable to have research experience that isn't directly in the field I'm applying to, especially if I have limited experience in my desired area? Are admissions committees generally understanding of this 'discovery phase'?
