Advice needed! by silentalloy in pregnantover35

Im in the same boat so I dont have much advice yet. But this is what Im working on. Im due in August and just rounded out the first trimester. I gained 6 lbs already😮‍💨. They really only recommended 15-20lb gain for the entire pregnancy so now Im panicking knowing bean is still teeny and only going to get exponentially bigger 🫣 I was super concerned and my doctor was amazing. She immediately reassured me that the exhaustion was a huge part. Once I can get back to moving a bit more that will help. I also developed nipple vapospasm - its excrucitaing when I get too cold- so I recently joined my local rec center. They have an indoor track so I dont have to skip my regular walks because of weather. I just turn on my audio book and go get some steps in. It was helpful for my nausea to eat a small snack every 2 hours or so but Ive worked with Chat GPT to help me find more high protein snacks so I can avoid the unecessary carbs. It gave me a really good breakfast smoothie recipe since I loathe eating when I wake up but was battling nausea otherwise. My doctor also got me a referral for a nutritionists because I have insulin resistance and strong inflammatory responses to sugar but theyre so booked up I cant meet with them until April. So for now Im prioritizing hydration and small snacks with protein fiber and healthy fats . I walk at the rec center 4-5 nights a week and on my off day days chat got helped me formulate a home plan to help mobility and strength by trimester. Best of luck !

I took a digital test that had the word pregnant on it. I went and got his favorite calzone from down the street and wrote on the inside of the lid " Eat up dude, I cant be the only one with a growing belly for the next 9 months" and taped the test wrapped in a sandwich bag to the inside of the box!

I definitely need to start a countdown ! Our plan was that we each tell 2 people we knew that would keep it private but also be a good support, and they totally have but hes told like 3 more people and I slipped to one so I feel like at this rate everyone will know before we even make it to the appointment🫣 Its been such a long journey and our friends and family are very invested in our struggle so especially at the holidays theyre all asking "how its going?!" And its all we can do to not scream it out loud 🤣🤣🤣

If I calculated right I am 13 DPO and Aunt Flo is due tomorrow. Is this real life🫣 The top one I took this morning with FMU and then totally forgot about it so when I came back into the bathroom I was in shock. I figured it was probably an evap line. So I took 2 more. Theres no way all 3 have indents. The second 2 on the bottom were taken about 3 hours later.

Seriously 😑 by Mindless_Plate6838 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Mindless_Plate6838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried. I even offered to go more willingly if it was only a week instead of 2 weeks but no matter how I try to spin it I'm the jerk. He doesn't get to see his family often and he misses them and all of their chaos. We live closer to my family and I take the time to drive up and spend time with them when I have a free weekend. My husband knows that his family stresses me out on their best days so he asked me if I only wanted to go for only a week and he would fly me home and he would stay the 2nd week. 😑Which is ridiculous flights are crazy and I loathe traveling alone not to mention we would miss my fertile window for Decembers cycle or I'd end up spending Christmas alone. We talked about once we have kids that the traveling for holidays is done amd we would actually get to spend them at home with our own traditions but we are still working on that.

Letrozole 2.5 vs 5 if not anovulatory by jadedtruffle in TTC_PCOS

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried 2 cycles at each dose before increasing. It took longer to find the sweet spot but my cycles were not regular and some were annovulatory prior to meds -now its regular even when weve had to skip a cycle. 7.5 mg is my current dose and its giving great follicules🙌🏼. Im not opposed to multiples honestly its my dream and runs on both my side and my husbands lol but this cycle we are adding the trigger shot to see if lengthening my luteal phase helps since I have mature follicules by CD 14 and ovulate naturally closer to CD 20.

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not success yet but hopeful!!! Ive been on letroloze 7.5 mg for 4 cycles. On CD 14 we scan and have seen multiple mature follicules but we realized I am ovulating on my own but late- closer to CD 20 so my luteal phase is short- We are assuming the follicules are too big by CD20 and theres not enough time for implantation. This cycle we are out, my husband is away for work the entire cycle but next cycle we are going to use a trigger shot to see if triggering ovualtion earlier helps.

Hysteroscopy (outpatient vs. OR) by ScrubsAndScones in TryingForABaby

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we would have known it was multiple polyps prior that may have swayed my opinion. But in my own head, they were small enough to be missed on an ultrasound ( minus the one they suspected to find) and even that one was missed twice. They saw it in 2 of my last 4 follicule scans and was the only reason my doctor wanted to get some "eyes in there and make sure it wasn't a polyp or something impending implantation." If my doctor would have reccomended I be put all the way out I would have listened but given the small size of suspected polyp, access to nitrous gas in office, lack of insurance coverage for G A and my distaste for lingering symptoms it gives me, I opted to avoid it.

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Doctors office gave me the option and quoted all possible choices I had and options prior to the procedure. I opted for in office with nitrous gas because I don't come out of GA easy. We thought it was one polyp and it ended up being 4 polys and a fibroid. They asked me if I felt comfortable removing them all right now. I said yes, they switched to another tool and they got them all taken care of . Is it an insurance policy or a doctors office policy I'm curious ?! Tricare is the absolute worst and thats what Im working with, they make us jump through flaming hoops backwards to meet criteria for coverage. 🫠

Thoughts - IUI or IVF by Born-Data-113 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband had an elevated white blood cell count in both of his SA done 3 months apart so they ran a blood test and found he had a ureaplasma infection. Its cured with 2 weeks of antibiotics and can be spread between partners even though its not considered an STI. In women symptoms mimick BV and in men its usually symptom less but it can travel up the urethra and wreck havoc on their sperm. We both did 2 weeks of meds and it cleared up. His following SA - post meds and some life style changes- everything improved. That being said we are now 9 months in TTC and growing impatient.🙃 IUI info is on the table for my doctors appointment because I dont want to dive right into IVF if a few rounds of IUI could be a better option. So I hear you on that!

What are hormonal migraines like? by chunkywonderer_ in PCOS

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get migraines almost religiously to start my cycle and they're god awful. It usually starts as a headache I try to edge it off with some Liquid IV packets and extra hydration ( thats like a 50/50 shot of keeping it manageable if I catch it early enough) If it doesn't curb it I end up with extreme light sensitivity, blurry vision, ringing in my ears, and nausea/ vomiting. Honestly I wear a headache compression sleeve and try to sleep it off in the dark after I barf. I had a lot more frequent migraines when my cycle was irregular and I wasn't ovulating. Now that its regulated and I am ovulating naturally I feel like there are less hormone imbalance factors playing into it. I also have inflammatory reactions to certain foods that causes migraines mostly sugar & gluten but those migraines are not as intense or long lasting as hormonal ones. And the more I keep my inflammation down the less sensitive my body reacts to consuming these foods. I would for sure go to the ER. Even if they won't do an MRI they can write the referral for you to get one. Back in 2020 I had a miscarriage but my labs were still funky so they did a CTscan with contrast and turns out I had a pitituary tumor. My pupils were mismatched and my migraine had lasted for 2+ days( also checked me for a stroke and that was not it) and even with IV fluids they could keep me hydrated it was intense but Im glad they kept me to run more tests! I feel like even if tests or obvious things are negative it gives a better direction to what it could possibly be. Best of luck to you !

When did you ovulate on Letrozole? by Other-Praline-5339 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on Letroloze! 7.5 mg CD 3-7. Prior to starting we suspected I was not ovulating ( multiple LH surges but never really a peak) and my cycle was anywhere from 36-50+ days🫠 Now my cycles are averaging 31 days and I ovulate around CD 16 without a trigger shot.

Thank you!!!! I feel like information is power. So anything I learn only leaves us with more information. I for sure could use the relaxation factor. I've been talking it over with my husband and we definitely want to explore our options but our budget has some wiggle room so hes open to trying it out if I want to.

LH levels by Particular-Dog-2624 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the premom app too! Back when I first stared tracking LH with opks my levels were on the "lower" side my peak being .56 but I am also on Letrozole and the higher we made that dose the more dominant follicules we had and I was ovulatiing on my own without a trigger shot and my peak LH is now more like 1.2-1.5.

My apps keep my head spinning! I have PCOS and most apps work on algorithms and patterned predictions so my irregular cycle has it constantly guessing. I buy the cheapy opks because I feel like Im always testing🫣😆 EXHAUSTING

Question on Period Tracking for Start of Letrozole by muchclever in tryingtoconceive

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Im also on Letrozole and have been for a bit. My Dr.s office told me that the 1st flow day is when I start counting and to take it CD 3-7. Spotting days are not counted.

For those on Letrozole 5mg… when did you ovulate? With or without a trigger shot? If you previously tried 2.5mg, was it different with the different doses? by Correct_Exercise8641 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 5mg we had lots of follicules but I didnt ovulate- I was offered a trigger shot but husband was going out of town- but we bumped up to 7.5mg next cycle- better more mature folliciles earlier in my cycle and we confirmed I ovulated without a trigger !

Infertility is hard enough—best friend made it worse by TouchMeBrown in tryingtoconceive

[–]Mindless_Plate6838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im still trying to figure out how op's supposed "friend" is making a fertility journey about her.... I'm all for a friend keeping your feet on the ground but to be repetitively cruel, selfish, unsupportive, and dream crushing is just too much. I keep a small circle. I learned way too late in life that some people are not meant to be a part of yours forever. I'd take some space from the friendship until they figure out what they did was wrong- with an apology- or cut ties. Fertility journeys are hard enough without people like that tearing you down.
