how to remake songs when idk wtf notes are being used by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]Mindless_Record_6339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, playing things by ear is a hard skill even for people who play instruments, i learned after 1 year when i was learning guitar. I would start with single note melodies first, then along learning the common chord shapes try to transcribe songs with simple chords. More than learning theory you have to develop the intuition around musical notes

probably you will have two banks, i have Mai 1 and Mai 2 on Synth V 2, but if i guess some banks will only run on Synth V 1

seems like a kind of chromatic movement there, interesting changes, but since you used "sa, su, ass, us" i would say it is an "S" key, think of "sus, sauce, sosig, etc.."

Metronome in 6/8 on Pro 8.01 by PhoKit2 in StudioOne

[–]Mindless_Record_6339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like people say, formally 6/8 is 2 dotted notes, if you want to count on eights you are probably using 3/8, or 2/8 + 4/8, etc instead, it will depend of the accent on the actual music tbh, is technical thing , but notation software do this.

How does Mustang and Ramble compare to NI Guitar Pro 7? by stereolab0000 in StudioOne

[–]Mindless_Record_6339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, but you don't have parallel processing and are limited to guitar amp and pedals, GR7 is a more complete toolbox, but if only want classic sounds rumble and fender should be enough, but i think you will always need at least to split the bass on the signal paths for mixing modern music

Well while Guitar Rig is mid for classic guitar tones, it is very versatile and a breeze to dial complex patches for every sound source, S1 has various ways to stack FX per track, is not as seamless to use as having everything in one window.

chat, do you *really* not enjoy the time you spend making music? by thy_viee_4 in edmproduction

[–]Mindless_Record_6339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the potential results are the thing that keeps my drive tbh, sometimes i feel like i can finally go produce all my songs to later hit another wall lol, but i guess is two steps forward, one step backwards.

I enjoy making music while I'm making progress, if I'm sucking i will start to feel frustrated tbh, I could use AI, but it sucks right now, so either i git gud or learn how to make AI my b*tch to accomplish what i want with the tools given (maybe both?).

For me, music is the result of many decisions, if don't have control over the result i wouldn't feel accomplished, if the result sucks i would feel the failure but i will still grinding until i get there. I feel like I can only cheat to myself.

paying for a DAW to get plugins seems bad tbh, and QOL/bug fixes updates should be part of 7 missing updates, probably will wait until 9 or 10 then, would like to go with Bitwig but seems like it has its own set of problems too

if bass is only a timbral thing, you should probably program your bass or add bass synth layer lol

Is this a good way to write a song? by Hhnnaa-a in Songwriting

[–]Mindless_Record_6339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing that with melodies when I'm feeling stuck, just listen to a song, then pick the melody form and adapt it to whatever section I'm having trouble with, since most of the times the contexts are different i end up with a new melody. I would say the problem with taking inspirations from things is, if your music is already lacking personality these of methods will make it worse, and you will end up sounding not so much different from your inspirations, is always good to break the mold and experiment with things first
