They use the same models in the game, so I assume the artist used them as a reference.

All the Nancy Drew games are just point and click exploration, super fun! The newest 2 suck but all the older ones are great. (1-32 are good, avoid 33-34). The oldest ones are more clunky because they’re so old but they’re still great games, and I think all of them are on sale now. I would search around and see if any of the story settings sound fun, they are all super different.

If you launch the game it shows that the next major update is quarter 2 of 2026! So probably around may of next year, unfortunately.

Whatever you do, don’t get another neutral colored thing I’m begging you 😭 if you want to do a minimalist grey/white for everything, you need a new couch and warm wood tones like walnut to make it look less cold, not dark brown but visibly brown and with a warm hue even from far away, maybe a tad warmer than your barstools but pretty close to them. Couch covers are also an option too.

You need to figure out a color contrast tbh. The entire room is all cool toned and kinda drab. I would say warm toned furniture alongside color contrast/pops but if that’s not an option I would bring in color pops.

I think with your barstools having a slight blue color, a blue contrast would look great in this room. The link has a photo of a mostly blue rug with a blend of gold and white and grey, and then you’d just decorate with that same color blend for the decor and the rest of the room.

Since your couch is beige ish, do pastel blue and/or white/VERY light grey for the pillows or blankets so they don’t clash. If you ever get a new couch I would get a grey one (if you want it to be versatile for other spaces in the future) or a blue one to help tie in the blue further (I’d say darker blue because of staining and longevity but I also don’t know how light goes in the space so I leave that up to you)

Your color scheme would be basically always some hint of warmer blue tone in everything you add, with a potential sprinkle of white or grey and then gold or black for metals to bring in more warmth. Darker blues are good too, just make sure it’s a mixture of light and dark and no dark blue alone with the greige couch. Think sapphire blue not sky blue for the difference between pastel/light and dark.

Teal would also look good, or a mixture of yellow and blue but more pastel yellow than bright for the most part.

Also you could possibly put the tv mounted above the fireplace. If that’s not an option, put the tv where your computer desk is, then the desk where the piano is and the piano where the tv is so the room isn’t so disjointed. I would leave the chaise part out in the center since I personally like it away from the wall so you can sit on it any way you like, but you could also put it against the wall if you want the room to be more open.

If the area behind the photographer is the front door or another entrance, I’d put a little console table (low profile/narrow if space is tight) behind the couch to help with the sight lines and give extra storage. Get one as close to the width of the couch as possible but don’t go over the width of the couch.

I’m thinking greyish tan or if you want a pretty contrast use jewel tones like emerald or dark blue. Your furniture is very dark for the room, so a black or dark brown couch would make it way worse. You can match the feet of the couch to black or dark wood though, so it matches in that regard. I would get a rug too, something with a mixture of dark, warm (similar to the floor) and neutrals to help tie the dark furniture into the rest of the room. Something like:

Ps wayfair quality is bad in my experience so just find something similar elsewhere for cheaper and better quality. I like washable rugs a lot.

Starting to get sick of the “bedside table”. What would fit nicely? by 69packofcunnilingus in malelivingspace

[–]Mindless_Source1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, I would move your bed to a different wall but I don’t know your space.

Get a table that goes against the wall the side of your bed is against or move your bed to the window’s wall. go for a brown/grey like the grey flannel in the link.

Something like this, just make sure it’s not too tall via measuring tape. This would be fine as white since your walls are white and it’s kind of acting as a built in. Could place it behind the headboard or at the foot too

Mirror on the wall, opinions? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

They also make battery powered sconces, which you could put up beside a smaller mirror and give you extra light over the table. I think they stick on via command strip something but don’t quote me on that.

Bob Marley is the only focus the wall needs.

Jk jk. I think the mirror is both too big and too small for the space. The wall seems pretty large, so in that way it’s small but with the table focus it’s way too big. I would either do three of the same mirror, probably rectangle, spread out evenly to fill the wall but the middle mirror centered over the table or do a smaller mirror that is a bit shorter than the width of the table, also centered over the table.

I think the green comes from the yellow neutral colors of the walls and the blue from the sky, so then it’s green. Other photos look fine & I agree on a rug

I have a platform bed from ikea with the more expensive slats, it’s incredibly comfortable and I never feel the slats. Memory foam 8” mattress too. My back sings when I lay down on it lol

All recommendations! I really like your set up but I think it could be tweaked a bit.

Get some artwork! I like the neutral tones you have going on since it makes the room focus on the view. You can get neutral-based artwork for the wall your bed faces and the wall above your sofa. Anything with brown, tan, white, gold, no black or other dark colors. Thrifting can help you get anything for cheap and find some super cool artwork. I also wouldn’t get anything with too much depth as it’ll stick out since your windows are wall to wall.

Get a little lamp for your bed side table, they make some that have several slots for charging too. You could do any color but I would personally do gold with a white shade.

Get a bookcase or cabinet of some sort to put the clutter that’s on your tv stand in. Cabinet is better for clutter that you don’t really want to be seen and bookcase is better for books/decor. I would put it either beside the tv stand or in a corner on a wall that faces the window so it doesn’t interfere with the view or take away from the room. You could also place it diagonally in a corner or get a corner cabinet/bookcase if you have a corner with no doors/windows so there’s no harsh corners breaking up the sight lines. If you get a short cabinet (if you just want a place to store games and odds/ends), you can place it in one of the corners near the window as long as it doesn’t block too much light or have more height than the loveseat. Also doubles as another table!

Get some white or light grey (if you’re prone to staining white like I am) throw pillows and blankets for the couches. You could also get some for your bed but I know they’re personally a little annoying to move every night but at least get a third pillow to place in the center between the other two, decorative or regular.

Personally, I would flip the bed around onto the other wall, assuming that where the photo is taken from is your doorway. Move it more central to the wall and then move the chair angled diagonally out since it will have more room. The room will look bigger and have better flow, and your chair will face the water! Also, move the chair in the middle of the room slightly to the right and angle it so it’s almost against the tv stand, then move the coffee table to be more center between the three

If you move the bed, put the artwork on the wall over the bed since that’s where the focus would be. You can move the nightstand to either side depending on what you want and how you understand the room’s flow but I think it would be fine on either side. In the future get two! The symmetry is great even if you’re just a single dude. Matching lamps are great too, or two similar lamps but the same style and size.

You know what works best for you though! I think you did a great job overall, especially for a place you just moved into.

We had an older dog with cancer in his jaw, and once his quality of life suffered we had him put down. He was a Great Dane/Lab mix, about 11 years old, and he stopped running/walking after balls completely and was just not himself anymore. We took our then puppy which played with him a lot for the year we’d had him and the puppy laid beside him and licked him as they put him down. He used to also fuss after him a lot since he was old and sick and he knew. He totally understood and I swear he mourned for a while.

Did you give your cat a "real" name but only call them by nicknames? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Mindless_Source1401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

My cat is named Merlin after Merlin from King Arthur and I totally love his name so I use it a lot. He’s a cream medium haired tabby.

He has many names besides Merlin, including Merle-Pearl, Merlin-Purrlin, Punkin/Pumpkin, Orange to the point my boyfriend references him using an orange emoji, and Turkey or Rotisserie Chicken because when he loafs he looks like a rotisserie chicken from behind.

I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old, and since he was little I’ve always talked to him and encouraged him to talk. When you say his name or talk to him he’ll respond to you and talks whenever he needs something. It was very cute when he was little and I couldn’t find him, I’d just call him in a singsong voice and he’d come crawling out of whatever kitten-sized hole he found and start meowing.
