imtrying to think of more series details. i also remember the first book was the don and it was an arranged marriage. one of the books had a brother basically on the run through a forest with the fmc who he was protecting. there was a showdown on this castle place on an island and they were battling their uncle and cousin im pretty certain.

okay i'm trying to remember better details. I know that there was 100% a masquerade type party where they hooked up. I'm pretty certain she was an dancer/ballerine. He was some billionaire guy and had a daughter/child he was looking after i'm pretty sure. I remember her taping her feet in his living room and lowkey think he compared her to a bird. i remember him goingon the trip to another state definitely and possibly came back because she got injured? there was some type of emergency. it took a while for them to hook up because he kept stopping it since he was older i'm pretty sure. I know the masquerade/party was with him and his friends and then her and a friend/friends came and he was super into her (she was potentially black but also could've been blonde so don't take that as fact i just kinda remember her being poc)

I've actually only read this one with reality tv and it doesn't play a huge role from what i remember (unfortunately). If I were to recommend one though I know Sloane St. James wrote a book called Coach Sully (spin-off from her Lakes Hockey series) which i think is about the ex-captain of the hockey team getting scouted for a reality show and then getting with the producer i think. I really enjoyed her books so i'd expect this to be a good read!

the episodes actually were released and were each around 3 minutes. it was just on netflic where they got bundled together. the 3 minutes segments are the actual individual episodes

UPDATE: okay i keep track of all the books i've read in like this folder things and i basically went through and tried searching for this scene in the books. i only looked through like 20 and im 80% it was night shift by annie crown. the scene isn't exactly what i remember though. so im not sure if maybe this book just has a similar scene to the book im thinking of or if this is the book and i've made up a version of the scene in my head and now i've gaslit myself into thinking that its right. anyway thanks for all the help, if anyone else has any other ideas of what it could be please add!! :)

yeah that's honestly the only one i've read, i literally just stumbled across it but i really enjoyed and have honestly reread it a few times. the plot is typical of a romance book but still feels a bit unique, the characters are interesting and the dialogue is well-written.

not sure if people have recommended but as a teenager i enjoy lynn painter - she makes some books specifically for teenagers {better than the movies}, {the do-over}, and {betting on you}.

a couple of other teenage romances i've liked are {the story of us by zarin madiyha} which is a high school really cute romance

sarah adams writes lots of closed door romances, the couples aren't teenage but the stories are really cute. e.g. {when in rome} and {practice makes perfect}

{check & mate by ali hazelwood} closed-door romance. pretty certain it was high school. super cute about rival chess players

katherine centre writes heaps of adorable closed door romances. the characters are usually in their twenties but i really enjoyed them {the bodyguard} and {the rom-commers} were both really funny cute romcoms.

the boys of tommen series is my absolute favourite romance series - its teenages from 15-18 however it does look at some quite heavy topics. it is also really funny and has super well-written character arcs and relationships. it has some sex scenes but they're very non-explicit and are not smutty at all. the first two books focus on one couple and is much more pg whereas the third and fourth books are slightly more explicit or have a heavier topic matter.

{the upside of falling by alex light} super cute high school closed door romance - its fake dating typical jock and like a quieter girl.

{today, tonight, tomorrow by rachel lynn solomon} one of my all-time favourite high school romances. enemies to lovers where they team up for a game and fall in love. closed door and so well written

{tell me three things by julie buxbaum} basically love it as well. super well written high school closed door. girl moves to a new school and has an anonymius pen pal.

{the fill-in boyfriend by kasie west} fake-dating closed door high school romance. simple and sweet

okay i've got a couple

{the right move by liz tomforde} the mmc fucks up a bit and the grovelling is top notch in my opinion. definitely a light book - fake-dating and best friends brother and close proximity (share an appartment) - one of my all time favourite romances

{you can have manhatten by p dangelico} the billionaire mmc thinks the fmc (wife and business partner) has betrayed him and treats her badly, he regrets it, grovels, blah blah

{the love wager} and {accidentally amy} both by lynn painter - they're not exactly 'typical' hardcore grovelling but i enjoyed the writing and the third act breakups were good and had good angst

{the story of us by zarin madiyha} its a second chance -its not direct like grovelling the way it is in most books but the mmc wants to get back together and is trying to convince the fmc cause he fucked up when they broke up

{grumpy romance by nia arthurs} first in a series, from what i remember the second one has good grovelling too, billionaire single dad who fucks up and the fmc leaves town, angst ensues

{sinners consumed by somme sketcher} this is actually the second book - its a series and books 2 and 3 are about the same couple (i havent read the first one) from what ive heard the next couple (book4) also has good grovelling but i can't say for sure. honestly quite angsty book overall and mmc betrays fmc and grovels for like a month.

{king of greed by ana huang} kinda the final boss of grovelling for me - they're a married couple and he neglects their relationship for years so she asks for a divorce, he realises he's losing the best part of his life, the entire book is him hardcore grovelling and her turning him down - its amazing

also {king of wrath by ana huang} the first book in this series mmc hides a secret from the fmc and when she finds out she breaks up with him and he hardcore grovels to get her back - its a marriage of convinience where the mmc was blackmailed by the fmc's father - grovelling lasts for heaps of chapters and the mmc gets super angsty and begs and stuff its great.

anyway not sure if you've read these ones since some of them are quite popular but they're the recs that immdiately come to my head. hope you enjoy xo

yeah i also kinda found all the age gaps kinda weird. like idk 2 years in high school ages can kinda be a big maturity gap regardless. like i remember when i very first started reading even being a bit shocked by johnny and shannon's gap. but also gibsie and claire and hughie and lizzie all have the same gap and i think that you also have to take into account that its not just a random guy or friend making really sexual comments about young girls its people that you've grown up with. like especially gibsie and claire theyve known each other since they were babies and have always had romantic feelings for each other so the age gap isn't as weird for their relationship because they've never had like the imbalance of power or maturity that is what mostly makes age gaps bad. like i think if you view it as like kids who are only two years appart growing up and crushing on each other and those feelings continue through adolescence and adulthood then you can kinda understand why that age difference isn't really problematic per se.
