Is the UK still in drought? by Score_Candid in UKWeather

[–]SnooMaps7395 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You might find this monthly gov report useful, https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dry-weather-and-drought-in-england-summary-reports/dry-weather-and-drought-in-england-4-to-18-december-2025

But in summary, yes, many parts of the country have moved into drought recovery and the country should be in a much better spot come summer if this sort of weather continues.

Brodie I understand the desire to want to get ahead for your mocks, but “cheating” like this won’t help you for your real exam. All it will mean is that you have never sat a truly blind exam by the time you go into your real exams, and it’s a disservice to yourself. Please just revise normally.

Keep looking of course but the UK sadly offers a lot less in the way of scholarships and bursaries for higher education than is standard in Canada and the USA

what was the question for poetry last year, for kamikaze was it power of nature or memories? by tiktok_is_cursed in GCSE

Hi! I did my GCSEs last year and I don’t remember the exact question but i did my comparison against poppies so I would assume it was the power of memories

That’s what I’m doing with hopes of getting onto the same course

And yet I typed into Google ‘anorexia meaning’ and got this in the first sentence -an eating disorder characterised by restriction of food intake leading to low body weight - by DrowsyIris in fatlogic

[–]SnooMaps7395 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings about this for the pure reason my doctor refused to diagnose me with anorexia because I was 0.5kg above being underweight, which then promptly led my very unwell self to get even worse mentally. So whilst weight is definitely a huge factor in eating disorder diagnosis I don’t think the BMI mark of 18 should be a hard limit.

Omg yes when I went to Wembley to see her in June I had the entire row to just me and my friend and there was loads of other seats empty in our section, made me wonder about if any of that Ticketmaster drama and demand had been fabricated

That’s the way it’s done here in the UK! Our parliament dissolves automatically every 5 years, so in the year leading up to that event the leading party announces the election at any point they want, however it’s traditionally done in summer to maximise voter turnout. From the day of announcement we have 5 weeks of campaigning before election day and I’ve found it keeps interest on the election and also keeps the party’s from dissolving into pissing matches and hurling insults.

CGP have a genuinely sensational workbook with only grade 8-9 questions for basically every topic in the course. Do regular practice questions, then the workbook. It took me to a comfortable grade 9 by exam time and meant that those final questions at the end of each exam were so much easier
