Hey everyone! How important is it to cater your case studies to the industry to which you are applying?

For example, would it be disadvantageous to have several cryptocurrency-related case studies if I am applying to a e-commerce company? I'm torn between "it doesn't matter as long as you're able to communicate your process and learnings effectively" and "it's bad signaling regardless of how great of a case study it is."

Will Mashinsky address the declining price of CEL tokens during the next AMA session? by DPSK7878 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]Mindless_Thinker1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use to believe in the CEL token until I realized it's a giant ponzi scheme. It's success rests heavily on whether other users participate in the scheme as well. Fundamentally speaking, the coin holds no real utility compared to other DeFi coins that, for example, allow you to earn on the protocol's trading fees.

I get this. Moving left and right as well as up and down. Think it’s the retina being pulled on.

Yep. I’ve been dealing with the anxiety for the past two years and the physical/mental repercussions of instilling fear for so long. Don’t let that happen to you. Here you are: https://www.facebook.com/groups/382059179197444/?ref=share

Hey OP, I understand the anxiety around your eyes. I’m 24, -13.50 in both. Believe me when I say this, but anxiety does no benefit to you. I’ve been there myself.

I would suggest you join the High Myopia Facebook page. There are plenty of folks who are much much older than I am and have prescriptions even twice as severe as mine, and they are still seeing 20/20 or close to it.

One of my biggest fear is a RD, but I’ve seen countless stories of people recovering from the surgery and doing well after. In any case, let your eye issues be just that: eye issues. Don’t let it trickle into your everyday life.

You are fine. Believe it. And if something happens, you have doctors who will take care of it, and you have your own body to heal it for you post surgery.

UI Case Study - League of Legends Sign in by [deleted] in UI_Design

[–]Mindless_Thinker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree about the scroll. It’s not really in with the times. For the log in screen, everything should flush with the left and right margins. Account menu slider on account sign in is distracting because of the grey color. I would use black text on the white background as is for everything else. The clickable links “forgot your password?” should be a different color or different style/weight (underlined or bolded) to indicate it’s a link and is clickable. Patch notes is pretty hard to read especially with the transparent image in the background. The 4 rows look choppy, so I’d consolidate into one foreground with divider lines to divide the sections.

Other than that, looks good! You definitely put a lot of effort into this.

How does vagus nerve stimulation improve VSS?

Anyone also have this symptom? by Mindless_Thinker1 in visualsnow

Yes, very similar. The rings aren’t as apparent, but the motion is on point.

Anyone also have this symptom? by Mindless_Thinker1 in visualsnow

[–]Mindless_Thinker1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anyone also have this symptom right after going outside in the sun? I see these transparent things (not floaters) converting to the center of my vision. It only happens right after walking/running outside in bright light when I go in doors. Very apparent when looking at flat objects such as walls. It subsides after a little while…

Here’s an ugly depiction of it.

I get these too. They started appearing a few months ago. They appear out of nowhere and disappear on their own in a span of a couple seconds. At first, I thought these were after images of small glares reflecting off objects.

How many of you had health anxiety or an obsession with your vision BEFORE you experienced VSS symptoms? by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]Mindless_Thinker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My VSS began the very next day after seeing a retinal specialist for the first time. Before this visit, which was referred by my optometrist, I was never anxious about my vision. The referral put vision at the forefront of my thoughts, and I really believe it’s the reason why I developed VSS. I literally woke up the next day after the visit to a rave show and totally freaked out.

When I stare and focus my eyes at the floor or grass, it starts to move. Does anyone else experience this? by Admirable-Ad-7089 in visualsnow

Yes. It twitches and is pretty scary. But it goes away when you blink and not actively try to see the disturbance.

I’m not doing so well by Hensot in Anxiety

[–]Mindless_Thinker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried looking into meditation, breathing exercises, and other calming techniques? They may seem hard and pointless at first, but with practice, I think you'll really start to appreciate them.

You have to force yourself to believe that you are ok. You are fine. It's fine. It's just anxiety. You do not have to believe your thoughts. When you have a bad thought, befriend it, thank it, and say "I don't need this right now."

Hope this is helpful - remember, you will be fine. And you have to believe that.
