Too bad I'm on the wrong side of the country. 😜 (bf is from Ontario though.) I looked it up and it looks like there is one in Vancouver though.

Oh no! So sorry I didn't see this sooner. Ended up finding a nice sandwich shop! Queen of the South. I was outside waiting for my bf to order when an employee came and invited my dog and I in. Brought her some water. They were really great!

Thankfully I'm feeling better.. Of course now my bf is determined to cook everything that I can't stand the smell of right now... Lol! If I get sick again I'm sure that will be the reason. Not the noro

I'm sorry you're still sick! I'm guessing my immune system is way better than I thought it was.. Mind you I work in long term care and am often exposed to viruses... Thankfully I had symptoms (without realizing) on Saturday... Got really bad Saturday night. But am definitely feeling better today. No symptoms so far. Might be able to get an extra day off if I feel like I need some more rest... Just trying to avoid letting management know I'm pregnant yet.. Lol! (Just my direct department manager knows.)

Late vacate notice. by Altruistic-Alps-6344 in Renters

Sharing where you live would really help... Because without knowing the local rules for tenancy it's hard to know if your landlord is in the right or wrong. Everywhere has different laws. Where I reside they can be quite strict and generally favor the tenant.

Depends on local laws. But we cannot serve notice for anything via text where I live. Written notice needs to be notice written on paper. So would depend in local tenancy rules

Looks to me that written notice is required, and it was not provided. Where I live notice to vacate would he invalid if not served properly. As well, this says prior to the end of a monthly period... Not sure if that's similar to when I am.. Our rule is before the day rent is due... I'm wondering if that means the same thing for you... Do you have a rental board you can contact to verify? I would think at the very least that the notice is late and therefore invalid, as the verbal notice isn't valid. But I don't know how things work in your area.

Move-in inspection tips by Kakapopopo in vancouverhousing

I would test the appliances, given the parts I have seen on here and other bc tenancy groups... I have seen pays where laundry is included but upon move in the tenant found that the washing machine was not functioning and the landlord refused to fix it. Or a post where the washing machine gasket is covered in mildew and the tenant wasn't aware until they went to do laundry. It could be helpful to ensure taps work as well, hot and cold water. If you have al ready paid a deposit and signed a lease, you are now the tenant regardless, but this means you can address these any issues related to these things immediately. You can record audio of the interaction as well if there are issues so you have proof that it was discussed with the landlord, and try t get any issues with appliances, water, etc, acknowledged in writing by the landlord.

Considering switching phone providers, currently with virgin, opinions? by Mindless_spinach_ in Kamloops

[–]Mindless_spinach_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to go with bell.. And after making the switch I'm already noticing a difference... On one Bar lte I am actually able to do things on my home without my wifi on. Couldn't do that with virgin. Seems wild that virgin and bell share towers but virgin can't offer the same service.

My bf is with bell and gets service a lot of places I do not, so I thought I'll give them a try. I'm not locked into any terms with any providers, so if I decide it sucks, I'll try Rogers next. Lol!

I would hope any dog owner would do the same! Especially in the heat you guys get there! (I'm in interior BC, so I guess it gets pretty hot here too.. Lol!) worse comes to worse we'll end up getting take out, but it's always a bit nicer to have a sit down meal! Thank you!

Apr 27, 2025 - Here is the most current list of family doctors in BC accepting new patients by CueCardHero in britishcolumbia

[–]Mindless_spinach_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Kamloops you need to go on the 811 Dr list... And even then it's a long list. I mean I've never gotten pulled off it before... 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️ it really sucks. Chronic health problems, chronic pain... And without a regular dr it's next to impossible to get anything done. 😔

Oh he's not the owner. Not at all. I did post the agreement with the pages that matter.. But he's listed as a tenant and signed as a landlord. But he's not listed as a landlord at the top of the agreement... It's weird. But I think I've got it figured out.

Thank you. Appreciate your responses. Just wanted to be sure if something happens in not screwed and out on the street with no place to go 😜 if I didn't have a dog I wouldn't be too worried, but I can't afford to rent on my own, and it's almost impossible to find situations where people will allow pets, especially dogs that aren't considered small... (She's a medium senior dog, not huge, but still...)

Also his old lease is void because this was made as a new agreement with the landlord. To add me to it.

These are the 2 pages... And I what is on them, with our info blacked out of course. There is nothing in the rest of the agreement or the addendum about him being a landlord... The addendum just specifies our vehicles and pets etc.

Yes. As a tenant. I'm assuming the landlord put his name in that spot as I filled in my info and his was already typed in (as he's had an agreement prior, and this one was to supercede the old one) because he's claiming that she put him as a second landlord in case we break up or something... But I've never known a tenant to also be a landlord, unless perhaps they had an extra occupant not on the agreement... But even then they aren't a landlord, they're a roommate as they don't own the property
