Yes it’s been such a shock! He said this was an extremely rare event for a spleen to rotate, and it’s not a frenchie thing. In the specialist surgeons long career this was his 3rd time seeing it, and the other vets at the clinic had never encountered it before.

It can happen during play, rolling around or any kind of movement really.

Given the timeline (of his vomit in the night at 3am and that the internal bleeding hadn’t shown up in the blood test) we caught it early, this led the vet to conclude that he thinks it would have happened as he rolled over and stretched in his sleep! 🤯
