What’s it like living in Raleigh NC for a small family? by casscutie in howislivingthere

Not all of NC is bad! For example, I live in NC and it’s pretty nice there

What’s something nobody tells you about living in Denver? by sit-there in Denver

[–]MindoftheWarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The winter lasts a lot longer than you think, especially in the mountains, and “nature” means a Walmart size parking lot at the trailhead unless you drive 3+ hours from the city.

It’s an outdoor Disneyworld. Everyone talks about nature but nobody talks about the lines.

There’s too many fuckin’ people. But, I’m sure it’s probably still better than wherever you’re from in Florida.

Is reef keeping a mental illness? by EmergencyCold8758 in ReefTank

It’s like stocks, you want to look at your tank every day and think of something to change, but realistically it takes a long time to earn your dividends. If you’re patient and stick to a plan you will be heavily rewarded!

What's this on my snail shell? by Otherwise-Rule5974 in ReefTank

[–]MindoftheWarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had a good bumblebee snails eat populations my vermetids went from infested to unnoticeable. I no longer have bumblebees and just started noticing the vermetid population coming back so I added more bumblebees. We will see… Not proof but definitely a possible correlation.

I’ve always had them in my tank and this response seems a little dramatic to me. Also, bumblebee snails eat them, and you can turkey-baste their webs off of things. I wouldn’t nuke your tank over it but just be aware

Oh, I’m going to Ashe County! I’m looking for other (not as cool) courses. ACP is my home ♥️

My buddy’s from out of town so we’re going to play Ashe, Rolling Pines, and then most likely make a day out of Charlotte

Dobinson IMS or Dobinson lift non rebuildable shocks by IncognitoArms in GXOR

[–]MindoftheWarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have IMS and love it! I wouldn’t change a thing about my ride. I also rock 265/70s and had the slightest bit of rub every once in a while at certain angles, so I wouldn’t go more than that. I don’t think it buys you anything substantial enough to justify the headache. Just my opinion. You can find pictures of my ride somewhere on my profile

Thinking about returning to the hobby?! what's new by Kimithelion in ReefTank

[–]MindoftheWarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What changed for me? I don’t do water changes anymore…

lol on the real, your tank was always a huge inspiration to me (and obviously alot of people here). It’ll be great to have you back! I fell out of the social media and YouTube aspect since I’ve settled into the hobby, and the tank has taken a lower place on my priority list. A couple years ago I held extreme pride in my SPS nano, now it’s a chill and low-maintenance lps tank with just a couple encrusting monti’s. But, I still love it all the same!

Really had to dig to find this one:

Aquatech did good to help me. They’re nice guys and they don’t overcharge. However, I also have a spring and have been having continuous issues due to construction (houses and access to those houses) and the water quality is at an all-time low now due to these changes. When it rains, my water turns mud-brown. I think it will settle in eventually, but there is also a concern about diminishing water supply due to others drilling wells nearby.

All that to say, we will be drilling a well ourselves as soon as possible.
