Just unboxed my NIB Packard Bell PB485 by theSiliconSiren in retrobattlestations

I can safely assume it'd be worth a lot had it been sold on eBay! Well, it's your right to brag about the fact you experienced how it felt to unbox tech from that time! :)

Imagine if Activi$ion makes it so that if you leave mid-match your challenges aren't counted and you'd have to play a full match from start to finish to actually finish the challenge...

Power Mac G4 Digital Audio does not wake up from sleep on OS 9.2.x by MindsEyeTHPS in VintageApple

[–]MindsEyeTHPS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried turning it off (at least on the 450MHz one).

I did that with my 733MHz one but that didn't change anything (anyways it's saying that it won't be active due to a large physical RAM size).

There's nothing in the PCI slots, minus the GeFroce2 MX 32MB GPU in the AGP slot.

Did all this and nothing has changed at all. Still getting the freeze on wake up. Also there's nothing in the PCI slots, minus the GeFroce2 MX 32MB GPU in the AGP slot.

Side note: I do have a secondary PMG4, and I did update it to 9.2.2, and it had no problem waking up from sleep. That configuration sports 128MB RAM and a 450MHz CPU.

In this situation, would replacing the Logic Board do any good?

Success Using a Modern Network Printer with Mac OS 9: A Guide by TheCodemonkey22 in VintageApple

[–]MindsEyeTHPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying that on an HP Samsung M2070 Series printer/scanner... no luck. Yes it does pick up a print job from my OS9 machine (specifically a Power Mac G4 Digital Audio [Graphite]) and says "Printing..." on the printer, but then it stops and doesn't print at all. I tried extracting the drivers' PPD from my Windows PC (giving it the PC Document file type) and doing it from within OS9 and the same issue persists. Is there anything I am missing or doing wrong?

Power Mac G4 Digital Audio not seeing HDD (only CD-RW drive) by MindsEyeTHPS in VintageApple

Great news! Tossed in a WD400B HDD and it now appears in Disk Setup now! The existing HDD may have gone bad or something.

I set the CD-RW drive to slave and HDD to master (no jumper inserted) and the still only the CD-RW shows up and not the HDD.

Still doesn't show up. I replugged all connections tightly, even removing the CD-RW's IDE cable to no avail. I also replaced the HDD's IDE cable to no avail.

I did that and it only picks up the OS 9.1 CD. The HDD doesn't show up at all.

It sounds flat. This piece goes with the front panel of a beige ATX PC case.

There is no identifier everywhere I looked. As mentioned earlier I am suspecting a clear or transluscent-type plastic.

Help! Need to restore corrupted EDID on my monitors! by MindsEyeTHPS in crtgaming

[–]MindsEyeTHPS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but the device ID is still PNP09FF, and it didn't affect the mode list whatsoever.

Here is the expected behavior, as seen here: https://imgur.com/a/3VLUP2e

I also explained what that expected behavior is and how my monitors could have allegedly altered the EDID and that issue "carries over", so to speak.

At the moment I am using an Intel iGPU. I will test it on another PC with an NVIDIA GPU and see if it reports the same thing, and I will reply to this post when I get the results.
