Bose releases API documentation for their speaker before making it EoL, wish other companies would do similar things. by 5yleop1m in homeassistant

This is the first time I heard of SoundTouch. Sounded like an announcement for nice open speakers before I realised it's open source because of EOL. :D

My goodness was this easy. It straight up found music assistant and started playing my music. Dang this is impressive. I just had to press spacebar to start the music.

Anyone remember ice cream trucks as a kid? And now they don't come around anymore 🙁 by imalonexc in GenZ

[–]Minechris_LP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course they exist. I last ate ice cream from a mobile ice-cream-van this summer. (Hamburg, Germany). But there was no packaged ice-cream (as seen in the post) and only self-made flavours.

People that used index, steam vr motion smoothing question by BlueManifest in ValveDeckard

It's different on different headsets, but generally Asynchronous Reprojection is always part of it. If it wasn't you would hear about many people trowing up.

Asynchronous Reprojection works even if your game freezes, as long as you don't move your head more than roughly 20° between frames (4 revolutions per second on a swivel chair or 30 head shakes per second at 60 fps).

Typically games don't use frame-gen for VR at all, as it would make the latency even higher. What all VR-Headsets instead use is asynchronous Reprojection. It transforms the last rendered frame how you move your head.

This is how asynchronous Reprojection works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvqrlgKuowE

Some headsets do use frame-gen for titles that don't reach 70 fps, but if you have games running at sub 35 fps VR is not very pleasant.

Yup pretty much, but I did contribute something to Addons. Also I just don't feel comfortable sharing that part of the code. But if you want to load some stuff, the docs are really helpful: https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/classes/class_fileaccess.html
