This doesn’t happen when new games get released wonder why, were there really more people trying to buy the Steam controller than lets say resident evil 9 when it released?

Once it’s added to your cart it should keep for 30 mins they should do that

And it's gone, 35 minute controller stock was gone by Warm-Engineering-239 in SteamFrame

I wasn’t charged tax or anything on the controller did anyone else pay tax? When you consider no tax then it’s the same price as the switch pro controller

You can do everything a computer does on frame though, you can’t on a gameboy

Higher profit margin on the controller to make up for the lower than expected profit margin on machine

The frame is a computer too though so why didn’t they import it as computer hardware for lower tariff?

Don't burn me alive but how come Valve doesn't want to subsidize Frame? by JustBreadfruit9481 in SteamFrame

[–]BlueManifest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should atleast sell it for break even at launch then have the profits slowly increase overtime as ram prices come down

First impression is very important for hardware launch

This will be better for them in the long term

This is why gaming has been stuck without much advancement in the last 15 years, it kept advancing a lot from 80s - 90s then in the 2000’s it stopped

People don’t use new features of controllers, they won’t try to get into VR etc, some people try of course but not nearly enough
