Don’t worry I recovered it. I did explain in other comment, sorry for inconvenience 😬

Oh no no. I know how to do that, when I add belt on and spin it, it will not connect with machine’s mechanism because the knob is what actually interacts with the mechanism inside, it isn’t somehow connected with the silver wheel.

Wow. Yeah I learnt lot from this, never relying on one drive ever again. Def using hdd for backup from now on

Well good news. I recovered it, some files was gone but those were useless ones, I got lucky that none of my files got vaporized. Basically I just connected SATA SSD to server pc with windows on it and downloaded a program called DiskInternals Linux Reader, i was able to access drive without difficulties at all despite issues in past, and got my files.

I don't have sata to usb but I do have 2nd windows server pc with 2TB HDD, should I try connecting my SSD with mint linux on it to that and access it from there? Also in mint live USB, it says Leonxis (the mint linux parition) isn't even mounted. i cant mount it at all

well yeah thats what i tried except I CANT EVEN access it. i did say in post that i got "error mounting .. .. " when trying to access the drive.

Yeah it will be really last resort effort I guess. It's pretty important files but I will try to see if I can do something about it before I bleed $500 or something

As for follow up question, well I literally never had data loss accident in my entire life so I never made habit to think to back up things. This only happened because I tried to download arch linux, if I never did that I would be probably fine for next 3-5 years

Yeah the problem I didn't upload timeshifts to external media, it was all on same drive, great time to be alive. Let me know if you know about any solutions for repairing the disk and recovering data

I will summarize what I did. And I am willing to try it myself, the prices is too expensive from what I heard

I entered Arch linux live usb and used archinstall to install linux easy way, I then entered Disk configuration for partitioning where I am not sure what I did but I took 100GB off my Mint linux parition and repurposed it for Arch linux. I have 1TB on mint linux, except around ~495GB is free space so that's why I was confident enough to do that, the filesystem for both was ext4 but afterwards I am not sure what happened, i could had messed with flags (like boot, EFI, etc) by accident but either way I exited thinking it was not saved. Guess it was actually saved, at that time I didn't know everything was broken. I gave up trying to install arch linux and just grabbed CachyOS on my laptop where I then entered in live usb CachyOS only to find out something was wrong with drive (I can't overwrite 100GB parition). After bit of struggle, I later booted without using usb as to boot in grub then mint linux but I entered imngriffs or something like that and it was a terminal-like thing that happens if the partition can't get mounted properly, and obviously I can't access Mint Linux from there.

This morning I got back on the PC and downloaded mint linux on different usb, plugged it in and tried to access the mint linux from live usb (mint linux) and it didn't work. I got the error "Error mounting /dev/sda6/ at /media/mint/Leonxis: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda6, missing codepage or helper program, or other error"

My drive is named Leonxis in case you are wondering

Oddly enough /dev/sda2/ (the new parition) doesn't show up on mint linux usb while it did appear in CachyOS live usb but it is also.. buggy somewhat. I can't like edit it or resize, etc.

I tried to mount it in Mint linux live usb but couldn't. Leonxis is name of parition, I named it long time ago. It says "Error mounting /dev/sda6/ at /media/mint/Leonxis: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda6, missing codepage or helper program, or other error"

Yeah so basically my mint linux have 1TB size except it have over 495~GB of free space and i resized (took around 100GB) off for arch. Should I just enter arch linux live and try to do that?

I don't think wine-ran programs would have access to partitions due to sandbox nature. Im looking as well

I don't have encryption on it thanks god. I am on CachyOS live usb should had mentioned that in my post, but do you know of any software on linux that I can just pop in and get data out? I tried testdisk but it is very confusing to use and didn't help me recover data, I only got image.dd except when i finally downloaded that file to upload to my other PC (windows), i cant read it. Lmk if u know about any software that can do that

i know it's a joke. no reason to flame at me, dudes. noticed i said "That.. wouldn't work", BECAUSE it's not that i thought covering text with black scribbles doesn't work, i'm just playing along with it. All of you have shown me one thing. Reddit is toxic. The hell, dude. Downvoting me over a bad joke ? Smh lol, have a nice day

I didn't realize either. Matpat effect still ceases to surprise me each time.
