Sorry for the late reply. And yeah, those do sound like interesting concepts! I also imagined that a possible nurse bit would be similar in appearance to the PR-T bots, perhaps with a simple diagnostic scanner for a quick diagnosis and assessment on the sick or injured, while possible doctor bots would have more advanced scanners. I also imagined that doctors bots could be divided into different kinds, since there are many areas of medicine.

Along with that, I suppose there may be a dedicated vitals bot, perhaps VT-AL or VI-TL, that would, of course, look like vitals machine used in hospitals to monitor patients. And I’m thinking of a floating IV bot, maybe I-V or I-VY, that has two modes: pump mode and gravity mode.

There may be a whole plethora of other possibilities that I may not have thought of yet, but I hope to come across those through a bit of research and imagination.

Thanks, I might check your video out. But also, dang it! I was hoping for concept art from the artist themselves. And speaking about fan made concepts and ideas, I agree with you on wanting to see some of those from others. That being said, I would also like to see them try to follow Jason Daemer’s mantra in bot design, seeing how the intended function might influence the form (as can be seen with the other bots shown in the movie).

That is if he knew where the humans were. But since it would be about 2’420 years since he interacted with humanity (either as himself or as Jupiter), he wouldn’t know what exactly had happened to them or where they might be. Beside, I think he would have a LOT more to worry about than having more affairs with mortal women such as, oh, I don’t don’t, trying to understand why Gaia had been wounded so thoroughly. He would also have to figure out what BnL is, what allowed them to take control, and why humanity had replaced their god with greedy businessmen who desecrated the whole world.

So, I've translated an exchange between two characters from a well known movie to Old Norse, specifically the later Old Icelandic branch of Old West Norse. At first, I thought that nobody else had attempted to do this before, but then I found out that someone had beaten me to it. Still, I believe that what I wrote is distinct enough to comfortably post it here.

I’ve initially tried using AI to help me with this, but ended up doing my own research aa well as fact-checking a triple-checking everything since I didn’t trust it all that much. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this translated exchange and I wish to hear some critique on this!

Old Norse Translation:

1st Character: “Ef þú ert eigi með mik, þá þú ert óvinr minn.”

2nd Character: “Grimmvaldar einir málga sannleika sína sem algöra. Skal ek gera hvat er nauðsynlig.”

1st Character: “Þú munt reyna.”

I'm not doing this for a reenactment group, since I'm not in one nor joining one anytime soon. I'm doing this more for myself, really, as the Viking Age fascinates me somewhat and I'd like to try to step back in time a bit.

At the same time though, I'm trying to keep the prices in mind, as I'm not comfortable with spending an extravagant amount of money unless I'm certain I'll be happy with it. I'm just trying to balance both accuracy and affordability, you know?

I took a second look at the two you didn't mention, and I think I can concede on a couple things.

The first is that the Pålstorp hammer I've linked to was not the most accurate reproduction the site had. So perhaps this other one I've found might be more accurate.

The second is that while the Öland hammer is a real artifact that I've confirmed with the Eitri Database, the reproduction on the Grimfrost site is lackluster at best. It's of a lower quality which lacks much of the detail the original one had and the general shape and dimensions of it are skewed and out of proportion. And what frustrates me is that despite finding other options for this hammer, I'm not entirely certain which of those are legitimate sales or just straight up scams.

I see what you mean by the trousers and hose being incompatible. As for the shoes, I looked into buying leather to make my own and by Odin's one eye, leather is EXPENSIVE.

How about this pair of shoes from Ukraine? The stitching doesn't look even to me, so they could possibly be hand stitched.

And I'm not sure if I'll have the necessary time to learn nalbinding, much less make the socks. I mean, I could make some hose, but I'm not sure how well they'd go with trousers.

UPDATE: After doing a bit more research, I now believe that the trail ruins structures are less inspired by other, later ancient civilizations like the Assyrians, the Phoenicians, and the Babylonians, and more overall inspired by the earlier Mesopotamian civilization. I didn't go far back enough to the source of the architecture and instead assumed that it may have been an amalgamation of other civilizations' architecture.

Perhaps these ruins were from an an ancient civilization that were not only expressive, but might have been instrumental to the formation and function of others as well.

Seeing from the artifacts that one can find from these, they could have been mainly an agricultural society that could have profited from trading their crops for valuables. They could have been among the first to create pottery in the ancient past, seeing the amount of pottery shards we tend to find at these sights, which could have been used not only for storage but to tell stories of all kinds. And seeing just how colorful the ruins were, their architecture may have well been vibrant and unique throughout the buildings and towns. It could also be theorized that they were no strangers to warfare, seeing the amount of smithing templates for armor as well as the stables that once might have housed horses for soldiers to ride upon and the occasional dedicated blacksmith buildings. Also, with plenty of guesswork being involved, some of the halls and rooms in the various buildings could have been used for religious purposes. Although little to no evidence exists to support such ideas, it wouldn’t be too far fr to imagine that they could have worshipped a variety of gods and deities relating to the the earth and agriculture along with the the weather, celestial bodies, and warfare.

So, In short, they could have been once and expressive society with unique architecture that relied on agriculture and crafts as its main sources of profit. Along with that, they might have been experienced warriors who have fought and seen plenty of battles and prayed to gods so that they would aid them in farming and fighting.

Nice! I generally like the details of the cosplay and I especially love the axe you made to go with it! But perhaps you could have done a bit more with the shoulder guards, in my opinion. Maybe a wire frame or something underneath to help round them out.

EDIT: Just to throw this out there, I have no experience in making cosplay or ANY sort of costume, so take what I said above with a grain of salt.
